Vehicle Detail
Hello - I am looking for a new owner for my 1986 Honda Civic SI hatchback. You can learn all about her from the movie that I made about her by going to YouTube and searching for, DRIVE ME TO THE MOON. The movie will come right up for you to watch. She is a good little Honda, but she needs work. Body, upholstery, tires... And if you could only find a new one of those mysterious valves that I’ve heard mechanics call both an air intake control and a thermowax for her that would be terrific! She does have a brand new Bosal muffler! Also, she got a new battery at the beginning of this summer. This is a Honda for someone with the automotive skills and appreciation to restore her to her best. Thank you. PJT On Aug-30-12 at 08:19:02 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE READ! Hello, again! I’ve had requests for photos so I took several today (Thursday) and posted them for you to see. Please look at the photos carefully because I am selling this car as is, where is. Here is some additional info about her condition: 1. I don’t drive this car in the winter. I think winter driving would be very hard on her. 2. I don’t let my husband drive this car. He slams through gears. I shift like a butterfly. 3. She does drip either oil or brake fluid. Not much, my mechanic says leave it alone. 3. I do not know if her radio works. I don’t listen and I keep the antenna down. 4. The heater/air conditioning knob is fussy. 5. She has a clear plastic wind screen you can put on when you take the moon roof out. But I never use it. Nevertheless, I pulled it out of its case the other day and I see it’s broken in half. So, that is no longer usable. 6. The rear bumper is wonky. One of my kittens got stuck in there, I had to pull the bumper away to rescue her and I could not get the bumper back into proper alignment. 7. The driver’s side seat belt works sometimes and sometimes it does not. Long story. Bottom line, the guy who replaced it years back did a lazy job. 8. The black trim on the sides is warped from age and dented from things like parked cars and grocery carts. 9. The visor covers are fried on the windshield side. 10. You CANNOT use the emergency brake! It won’t release.
