First of all, thanks for looking at my listing! This one-owner 1997 Saturn SW2 (Station Wagon High Level Trim) was purchased new from English Creek (NJ) Saturn by the seller (my mother) in the fall of 1997 after my father passed away. She is now 87 years old and her eyesight dictates that she no longer operate a motor vehicle. As such, I am selling this vehicle by auction to the highest bidder that meets or exceeds the reserve. Mileage is low at only 91,400. The breakdown is about 2/3rds highway and about 1/3 local driving. The car has been back and forth from New Jersey to Florida and Maryland dozens of times, but in between trips it might have gone about 200 miles per month to the store or pool. It has been well maintained with oil changes at a minimum of every 3,000 miles or six months. It has new tires (see pictures) and the only reason why we replaced the last set was due to dry rot. The old tires still had plenty of life remaining. The car was only garaged during its first three years while it was located in Florida and yet the paint condition is amazing for a car 15 years old. Interior is in excellent shape. Since I was doing the driving when the car was going back and forth from New Jersey to Florida and Maryland, I installed an aftermarket AM/FM CD player and Infinity speakers in place of the OEM speakers. Additionally, I installed XM Radio and the car is being sold with an XM Tao Satellite Radio Receiver. Buyer is responsible for obtaining a subscription to receive the radio signal. The car is very good on gas. During its life, we regularly observed economy in the 30+MPG level. In the pictures is a shot of the dashboard while the engine was running. No warning lights or malfunctions. Air Conditioning is nice and cold. Transmission shifts smooth but firm like new. The car has ABS, Traction Control, Cruise Control, PW, PB and Power Locks. It will come with three keys and key fobs for the keyless entry system. All accessories operate. The only bad news is that the vehicle has been involved in two (2) incidents. In 2000, the vehicle was struck from behind by a Ford Explorer as my mother was in a line of traffic waiting for the light to turn green. The hit was not hard and the vehicle wasn't pushed into the car in front. Due to the height differential, the tailgate absorbed most of the impact. It along with the bumper cover were replaced with new parts. In 2009, my mother pulled out into traffic but failed to notice a vehicle approaching from the left. She ran into the side of this other vehicle at very low speed, but the resulting impact removed the front bumper cover and damaged one of the headlight assemblies. The broken headlight assembly, bumper/bumper cover were replaced and the hood was repainted. In both incidents, all repair work was done by licensed and authorized insurance body shops. Why are we selling the car? With gas prices going up, I would actually love to purchase this car from my mother and use it to drive my 102 mile roundtrip commute to work, but I already own two other cars and the fuel savings would be eaten up by the added insurance costs. For what its worth, if I had children in high school or going off to college, THIS is the car I would hope to find for them as a father. As for my reserve price, if you search Saturn SW2 under Advanced Search and select "completed listings", you will find what these cars have been selling for (the green prices indicate a sale). My reserve is less than the average price and very reasonable since many of these cars are selling with much higher mileage. Please do not email me and ask what my reserve price is. I've answered that question. I'm not trying to be difficult. I've sold three cars and one motorcycle on eBay and have never had anyone come back to me with a complaint. Check my feedback.
