Here it is folks, the one you've dreamed about, or at least thought about, but never had the time... This is a 1977 Ford F150, rare short bed, xlt package with all the nice chrome trim. The truck is all original paint, no wrecks, never had any body work done to it. The body has it's fair share of dents, dings, and a little rust. When I say a little I mean that. The truck is very solid all around and I don't see any body panels that would need to be replaced. There is some time in body work no doubt but overall this is a solid truck! Floors look good, frame is solid, but needs some sanding and undercoat to be perfect. The interior needs work, the seat isn't in bad shape, but the dash is cracked in many places and the door panel on the drivers side is all broken. The passenger side panel needs some clips or better way to keep it tight. Sometimes the drivers door handle binds up and won't open from the outside. The windshield has a crack and needs to be replaced. Now for the good part... This truck is powered but a 12 valve intercooled cummins turbo diesel. I was told the engine was out of a 1992 with low miles, and the turbo is off a different year truck. I was told it's a 3rd gen turbo. It has custom intercooler piping and what looks to be an oversized intercooler. The engine fires right up, has lots of power and doesn't miss a beat. The transmission is a 6 speed manual transmission out of a 2004 dodge truck. It shifts through all the gears just like it should. The clutch feels stock. The fuel and voltage guage are the only original ones that work. The truck runs and drives. It actually rides pretty well. The steering box is loose and I'm sure other front end parts are about due for replacement. The truck does great around town, but doesn't feel too stable on the freeway in my opinion. This truck is really neat, it turns a lot of heads. I am a small dealer in Northern Utah and we bought this as a shop truck. We wanted to fix it up and paint it and finish off some odds and ends. Sadly we are moving locations later this year and don't want this truck to sit any more. It's time someone finsih it and enjoy it!!! All the hard work is done!! Skyler 8014992124 On Aug-24-12 at 09:03:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had a lot of questions and thought it would be easier THE 4x4 IS NOT WORKING! It needs a driveline made, or the the factory one modified to work in 4x4. The brakes do work, but the pedal is soft, I don't know if they need to be bled or there might be some sort of vacuum issue with them that makes the pedal soft. You can nearly put it to the floor. I also noticed when you put a load on the truck it smokes black, I believe the pump is turned up a bit. Thanks! If anyone has any other questions please contact me!!
