Vehicle Detail

This 64 Pontiac was beautifully restored to GTO specs in 2005. The original engine was replaced with a handily rebuilt 428 bored 30 over. The motor has new forged pistons and a new 490 lift Lunati cam. This beauty sounds great with true dual exhaust with new Stealth mufflers. The original transmission has been replaced with a rebuilt 4 Speed Automatic 2004R Trans with lockup for overdrive (under warranty until 01/01/14). This car is really spunky in the low gears and cruises with a low purr on the highway. Now it drives the way that it always should have or better. New fiberglass hood, new chrome, new trim, and new badging for this beauty. New break master cylinder, new break pads, new battery, new wipers, new lights and light switch. The interior was nicely restored with new seats, panels, and carpets, new glass all around. The paint job could have been better due to some minor cracks over bondo work, but they're hardly noticeable and the car looks amazing. The convertible top is in great condition and the new top motor works great. This car is great turn-key driver, ready to go. Car is located in Kingwood, TX. Buyer pays for shipping. Prior to the restoration work, the car had some rust as all of them do, but it definitely was not a "rust bucket". The restorer replaced the floor panels and neutralized and treated the remaining rusty areas before the car was primed, painted, and cleared. I've added some pictures which show some minor cracks over 2 areas with body filler on the quarter panels and the 2 seams between the top and the trunk. The car will serve perfectly well as an every day or occasional driver. It does not need to be repainted. The paint job will hold up for many years to come. The gentleman from whom I bought the car, and I have always kept the car in a garage. The car is available for inspection any time if you would like to see it or hire someone to inspect it. I've received a history report from Pontiac Historical Society and the car indeed rolled out of the factory as a LeMans but it has been restored to be on par with or better than most GTO's out there. Afterall, a GTO is a LeMans which was produced with a larger engine and some badges. That's what this car has with some additional upgrades. I recently took this car to the Kingwood car show and people loved it. When you take this car out, you get an overload of looks, inquiries, and people taking pictures. The car looks, sounds, and runs great. I'm selling it because my wife and I need to raise some cash.
