Vehicle Detail
This Hummer Replica was built by my father and I. It has a good strong motor and will climb almost anything. We stripped it down to the unibody frame and painted everything GM white. It has an authentic military HMMWV (humvee) hood, a Jeep CJ7 roll cage and windshield, and custom fitted bikini top. There is a working FACTORY traversomiter to measure tilt and prevent rollovers. It has 35.5x15 Super Swampers with wide rims and 3" aluminum wheel spacers for super wide stance just like the real H1. There is a brand new tow bar that connects with two simple pins and trailer light plug on the front so you can legally tow it home. I've had lots of fun with it, but need the money for a motorcycle trip around Europe. (gas is almost $9 a gallon) Here is what you'll need to finish this beast, 1. The computer box got wet (again), it's right under the glove box and i've replaced it 2x already. You may or may not need to replace it, the connector pins are a bit corroded so if it won't start i'm 99% sure this is all you'll need. You also might need to replace the battery. I was in a hurry to move things into storage and did not have any time to mess around with it. Once you fire it up, the motor runs amazingly quiet and will do doughnuts in 4 wheel drive throwing up huge chunks of dirt! 2. The roll cage has two pipes with quick release pins that connect to the windshield, these pipes are currently a working PVC mock up, but the cage is the real CJ7 metal cage (the montero has a longer wheel base, so the jeep pipes from the cage to the windshield are too short). The working brackets to the windshield are also a mock up, half metal half oak. Just get two small metal plates, drill 3 holes, and weld to the metal pipe connectors i have on it... This sounds complex but is VERY simple to do / have done. I've been driving it around the way it is now. 3. One tire is leaking through the valve stem, very cheap to get replaced at any tire store. I would recommend a set of 4 gm highway tires and rims for towing home to save the tread on the 35.5 super swampers, two tires are running low on tread. 4. The plates expired last year. If need be, I can provide new plates once I return at the end of September. My father will handle the title transfer when you pick up the vehicle. 5. The hood needs the latches to look right, but it weighs a ton and stays down anyway. You'll also need seat belts and side view mirrors, i'm pretty sure i installed the rear view mirror. I've tried to explain the issues as best I can because I feel the vehicle came out really good in the photos. Oh, I've added real HMMWV front signals since the photos were taken! I'm very sad to sell this, building it with my father was amazing fun. =) Good luck, email any questions to adamsmithpgh@gmail.com however i'm on my way camping across Europe to Bulgaria so I might not have WiFi at certain points in my journey.
