Vehicle Detail
Its not your normal everyday car... this is a unique little Italian Roadster. General Information and History: In the late sixties, Renato Ambrosini, son of Giorgio, the founder of the firm, designs the SIATA SPRING, an extraordinary little car, built on a Fiat 850 chassis. It had the look of a little roadster from the 1940’s and was designed to appeal to a young clientele, fond, at the time of these little English sports cars (Mg’s, Triumph’s, Healey's ) The mudguards and headlights were screwed to the bodywork. Although it was unnecessary, ( the vehicle had a rear engine ) the SIATA SPRING had a grille just like the one of a Rolls-Royce. The car could be delivered with an 51 cu. in. engine with 37 or 47 horsepower. This little car was quite a success in Europe and even in America when it was first introduced in 1967. About 3000 cars were produced altogether. But it was not enough to save the company. Production stopped in 1970 and they finally succumbed to growing financial problems in 1974 when ORSA purchased the name and all manufacturing rights and continued to produce a few cars in Sardaigna under the name ORSA SPRING until 1976. 3000 Cars were built between 1967 and 1970. About 10% remain today. .
