Vehicle Detail
1985 Ford Mustang LX Convertible Jalapeno Red with a red interior and a white top. The engine is a 3.8 Liter CFI V6 which runs but idles roughly, tries to stall, and does not like to rev to high rpms. The cause has not been pinpointed but guesses have ranged from ignition, hall effect switch, or head gasket. It will move under its own power but not drivable for any real distance. Transmission is an automatic that was rebuilt in 1997 by Ace Transmission Doctor. R12 AC system was serviced in 1997. Power steering pump had been replaced as well as the pressure hose. Soon afterwards, it was parked. Because of this, some rust issues are coming to the surface, primarily in the undersides of the doors, around the hatch and hood lips, and floors around the drain plugs. The top was replaced about the same time as the transmission work and is beginning to show its age. small cracks in the Vinyl can be seen in some areas. The back glass was replaced and still appears in good shape. Hydraulics were checked and the power top motor was replaced. Car is pretty much all there, only missing a few interior trim items and an exterior trim piece on the drivers side quarter panel caused by a parking lot incident. Also, the drivers side outer window sweep is missing. Door hinge pins need to be replaced and the passenger outer door handle does not work. The passenger top latch is difficult to engage, though it may be a simple adjustment of the frame. Due to this, the latch cup has been damaged. Interior is sun faded but in good condition, minus the passenger seat, which has a rip and a burn mark. Dash board suffers from cracking and holes in speaker grilles common for this car. Center console pad is cracked. Carpet under the drivers side floor mat has a hole worn into the heel pad. Tires are in need of replacement, as well as the battery. As this is my first listing, I rather go into detail and not raise expectations. This is NOT a turn key cruiser, however this would be an great project for someone looking for a potential show car or weekend racer. Car is AS-IS. Any questions, do not hesitate to ask!
