The straight-8 was an eight-cylinder, in-line automobile engine that was used in production Pontiacs from 1933 to 1954. Introduced in the fall of 1932 for the 1933 models, it was Pontiac's most powerful engine at the time and was the least expensive eight-cylinder engine built by an American automotive manufacturer. During its 21 year run, displacement of the "eight" increased twice as platforms grew. It was superseded by Pontiac's new V8, the 287, in 1955. PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT AND LOOK AT THE 50 PHOTOS INCLUDED IN THE EBAY DESCRIPTION for a better understanding of the vehicle. this vehicle has the following specs and additions: flat 8 motor that runs extremely well hydramatic transmission, was tuned approx 6 months back brand new tires aprrox 90% Tread new spark plugs/wiring carburetor was completely overhauled new water pump and new brakes, painted approx 1 year ago interior seats are approx 5 years old smooth body, great paint job approx 8k in restorations THE EXTERIOR OF THIS pontiac LOOKS REALLY NICE. THE PAINT IS AN OLDER cranbeery red AND THIS CAR RIDES AND DRIVES GREAT. THE PAINT DOES HAVE SOME MINOR IMPREFECTIONS and some minor bubbling under the paint. HOWEVER, THE BODY IS STRAIGHT AND THE CHROME REALLY MAKES THIS CAR STANDOUT. THE CAR ALSO HAS BRAND NEW TIRES AND HUB CAPS. THE INTERIOR IS CLEAN AND NICELY UPHOSTERED. THE drivers SIDE small WINDOW GLASS IS CRACKED AND REAR BUMPER HAS A FEW MINOR BLEMISHES IN THE CHROME. ALL LIGHTS AND SIGNALS WORK AS THEY SHOULD. again, this is a driver quality vehicle and will need additional attention to be show. the chrome on this vehicle has some pitting and scratches, the paint is nice but has some impercations and the window rubber could be replaced. THE INTERIOR IS VERY CLEAN AND FUNCTIONAL. THE SEAT IS NICELY UPHOSTERED; and the carpet is good. THE CAR does COME WITH the window visor. ALL GAUGES ARE ORIGINAL AND THEY WORK AS THEY SHOULD. the headliner is there but could use a cleaning, all guages and instruments are account for and work correctly. MECHANICALLY THIS pontiac DRIVES GREAT!. THE straight 8 MOTOR THAT’S IN IT IS SUPER STRONG, NO LEAKS. IT ALSO HAS THE ORIGINAL STRAIGHT FRONT AXLE WITH HYDROLIC DRUM BRAKES ALL AROUND.
