Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1959 Edsel Villager, 4-door, 6 passenger wagon. This car has spent the last 25 years in a controlled climate barn in the Oklahoma City area. I purchased the care approximately 4 years ago and it has spent the last 4 years under a car port with a car cover over it. I believe the wagon under went a mild restoration around 30 years ago (1982) or so. The production numbers for a '59 Villager is 5,687 out of a total 44,000 units produced that year, making this a rather rare 53 year old vehicle. This example was a solid car when early restoration took place. It has all original exterior chrome which is in good to excellent condition. All original glass and rubber gaskets are in good condition. The interior was also freshened in the earlier restoration, this interior shows some age but could be used for a daily driver. The body is very straight with very little rust in some areas (see photos). I placed the wagon on a rack to show that there is absolutely no rust in the floor pan or rocker boxes. The spare tire well is in remarkable condition. The paint is beginning to show it's 30+ years of age, but again as a daily driver it would work just fine. All of the exterior/interior stainless, chrome, and pot metal is in remarkable shape with only minor pitting on some die cast parts. All gauges are in good working order. The car is equipped with a special order "town and country" radio, which works intermittently. For any more information feel free to phone CST 1-405-923-3932 and ask for Johnnie. On Jul-31-12 at 08:13:26 PDT, seller added the following information: the tires and battery were brand new and only have about 50 miles since installed, but the car has been sitting for approximately 4 years. the engine is a V/8- 332 c.i. FE with 225 h.p. and 325 ft. lb torque, it has good power and does not smoke or leak oil. the engine runs very quiet and smoothly. the transmission is a "mile-o-matic" automatic coluum shift, it shifts correctly and does not leak. the brakes were checked out last week and the 2 front wheel cylinders were replaced, the front shoes and drums appeared to be new. this wagon also has the accessory power steering which works well but does leak a little, included are 2 new power steering replacement hoses and a new fuel pump. if you are looking for a very unusual and rare wagon that is a good "every day driver", then this may be the car for you. this is a very honest car, no surprises, what you see is what you get. it just needs to be driven and enjoyed, something i never got to do. p.s. i also have the original 3 bar flipper edsel hubcaps and a full set of the original 14" wheels and tires that are included in the auction. On Jul-31-12 at 15:55:45 PDT, seller added the following information: addtional information on V.I.N plate is as follows--body "71F"--color "HE1"--trim "32"--date "16B"--trans "3"--axle "1". hope this is helpful.
