1988 Suzuki Samurai 4x4 runs great. This Samurai is not the ordinary Samurai as it has many upgrades to help it perform well offroad. It was built for the mountains of North Carolina and it does an excellent job of handling the trails at Uwharrie National Forest. I also have used this as a daily driver so it is road capable. The gearing in it is awesome it can run up to around 80mph on the highway depending on conditions, and it will crawl as slow as you want in low range (the low range in it is AWESOME!!!). The top is decent but does have a couple tears as shown in pics though it should last a couple more years. There are some rust spots, but they are fairly easily fixable. Body has very few dents as shown in pics. This Samurai is ready to ride the trails and hit the road only needs a few things to be perfect. This samurai has:- A 1.6 8 valve conversion with fuel injection from a Suzuki Sidekick (more power) and aluminum valve cover. (runs great, does not run hot, smoke or leak) - Also has Toyota pickup axle conversion with 4.37:1 gears and spring over axle lift with 1.5" lift springs and slightly taller front shackles and Rancho shocks. - 6.5:1 Trail Gear transfer case gears installed- Rebuilt transmission with less than 15,000 miles- Reinforced transfer case arms- Lengthened front drive shaft- 33x12.50R-15 Cooper Discovery STT tires (approx. 1/2 tread) and one never used full tread spare (spare does not have a rim)- 15x8 black rock crawler wheels- Has a Toyota Hi-steer kit- Suzuki Sidekick power steering setup- Custom front bumper with a 9,000lb winch and accessory lights- Geo Metro seats (small tear in one as seen in pics)- CD player- Ammo can center console- New brakes and rear axle wheel seals- New speedometer- Many maintenance things have been replaced just can't remember them all. What it needs:- driver rear taillight - leaks brake fluid very very slowly through the proportioning valve. I have to add a little fluid about once a month. Has done this since I have owned it. However I do recommend fixing this.- I have rebuilt the knuckles on the front axle but a seal has gone bad. I think the seal was damaged when I assembled it. Leaks slowly, not bad at all.- Has some rust issues in the floor. It is fixable not terrible. There is also rust in the rocker panel on one side as seen in the pics.- Dash lights not working. (bad dimmer switch I think)- heater coil is bypassed because a hose broke on me so bypassed the heater core on the trail and just haven't replaced the hose. Easy fix for the heater. Just needs the new hose.- As far as I know this is all it needs SOLD AS IS. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY.
