1973 Pontiac Catalina for sale… There are so many GREAT things about this car – but let’s get the “business” stuff out of the way first! BUSINESS STUFF: Please only bid if you have the funds. THE CAR: Ok, the fun part! 1973 Catalina, 400 engine, 4 bbl carburetor, 91,000 original miles, hard top 2 door, stock. First the car has: - Totally new interior – seats, carpet, shoulder strap seat belts - Newer tires (less than 2,000 miles, whitewall, of course!) - New paint (nice paint job, check it out!) - New vinyl top = very nice! - New battery - Newer exhaust - Lots of newer parts, even wipers and fuzzy dice! - It runs great, drives great, sounds great, stops great - All lights work, all gauges work (except the clock!) - Spare tire & new trunk carpet too! - Great 400ci engine, strong and throaty, fun to drive - Automatic transmission, shifts seamlessly The not-so-good-stuff: - The radio (original) doesn’t work - There is no visible surface rust (had this cut out & replaced with metal), but there is some rust through ONLY on the rear underside into the trunk…nothing scary at all, not structural, not visible - The driver’s side door doesn’t lock. More specifically, it DOES lock, but won’t unlock! Not a tough fix, I just haven’t fixed it yet!- The chrome on the front & rear bumpers is flaking and has some surface rust - The car is not show quality at all, I call it a 5 foot car…from 5 or more feet, people say WOW! From less than 5’, you will see imperfections. Hell, I’m 1 year older than the car, and Lord knows I have imperfections too! Ha! A few dents / dings, a few minor things - there's no way to note every little issue with a daily driver car like this that is 39 years old! But overall....a nice impression car. So, for the money, you get a really nice looking hard top classic Catalina, in great mechanical and good shape inside and out – no project here, ready to drive right now as a cool daily driver, or for cruise-ins or the beach! Last note here: If you are still reading, that is a good sign, right? I am reasonable and motivated. My wife and I are going to Ireland at the end of August, and I want this cash for the trip. I’m asking $5500 cash locally– if you live close, come see it, drive it, make me an offer. I’m not dumb, I know what the car is worth….but I’m not dumb, and I know that cash talks and BS walks.
