I am offering this vehicle for sale because it apparently has thrown a rod and I can't fix it myself. It has sat in my driveway for two years now, while I have been thinking about what to do about it. It would now also require a battery in addition to the engine repair/replacement, as the current battery will no longer take a charge. Anything that deteriorates in hot weather, like hoses, would also be suspect. I purchased this car in 1991 and I was never in any accidents with it. It does have dings and scratches from careless people in parking lots. There is some rust developing, most noticeably in the rear, where I think it is seeping in around a couple of the rear lights, plus the sheet metal underneath the battery is mostly gone. The top of the dash has lots of big cracks now and the drivers seat is worn down to the metal in a couple of places. Any original fabric, plastic or rubber is showing its age. The paint on the surfaces facing skyward is now pretty faded. The last service visit was about a year before it stopped running, i.e. Feb 09. At that time I replaced the radiator and hoses, the water pump and belts, the clutch master and slave cylinders, both lower control arms and radius arms and put four inexpensive tires on. The car is in Wilmington, NC, 28412. I would not require any deposit. I would expect the buyer to arrange to pick up the car within a couple of weeks and pay me in cash. North Carolina requires notarized transfer of the title and of the bill of sale. My banker tells me they can notarize my paperwork at the branch a couple of miles away.
