Vehicle Detail
My 1973 MGB for saleThe MGB is simple: It is good-looking, fun to drive and easyto maintain.Next year this car will be 40 years old. I have owned the car for24 years and have really driven it very little. I have owned a MGB for 40years. This car is the exact duplicate of the one I had in college in 1973. The car is in original condition except for some features of the engine. Some ofthe features and conditions are the following. The car has been stored coveredin a garage and driven around 500 miles per year (maximum).Conditions· Car body in OK shape, It is a “driver” so the paint could use some touch up. It was painted Mallard Green after all of the paint was stripped off 20 years ago. There are some little pop dents in hoodand trunk from heavy handed mechanics trying to shut improperly. 1973 MGB was the only year that did not feature British Green, but Mallard Green. I have always thought this color was much more beautiful.· Interior was professionally redone in the Ochre Color (1973 was the only year MG offered this interior)· The car has had many new interior parts , but original / replicas were purchased· Top was replaced during the original refurbishment, but I do not think it was ever up unless it was stored in the garage.· No rust (California and Nevada car)Engine· The original refurbishment included a complete engine/ transmission overhaul. The engine now features weber carburetors. The original SU carberators are included in the purchase. These Carburators give the car more horsepower, better gas mileage, easier reliability.· The smog equipment was removed after the car received a historic license plate. The original smog equipment is included inthis purchase· This 1973 model was retro-engineered to the 1967standards, and then upgraded with modern modifications. Even in California and states that share its air quality standards, any car built in 1973 or before isusually fair game for removal of emissions systems, upgrading of carburetors, and the addition of a supercharger (not added yet)· The engine does feature a small valve tap asmost MGB’s do· I am not sure of the mileage but the odenmeter says 59,560 milesNew Parts· This MGB features many new parts including brake and clutch cylinders (last month).Features· Boot Cover· Historic Registration in Nevada· New and existing parts Why am I Selling?I now own many cars and the MGB receives very little use. Itis time to sell it to someone who wants a great beach or mountain car. This car makes you feel very young again.I will miss the MGB when it is gone. I probably have $25,000 USD invested in this car and offering to a new owner at a discounted priceAll the Best ……Paul
