You are bidding on (1) RARE 1974 PANTERA GTS VIN # THGTPL07162 with only 8864 miles. Only 196 PANTERA GTSs were produced in 1974 and this car is most likely the lowest mileage GTS in existence. This is a real USA GTS with GT in the VIN number. This GTS was put in storage by the current owner in 1983 and was not removed from storage until the Fall of 2010. I see a few cars of this age advertised as all original and even have the original tires. A car like that is most likely to have all the issues I had with this car and is for sure not something one could or would want to drive home. The main goal I had and the work performed on this rare low mileage GTS was to provide a fully functional/drivable PANTERA. All the updates to this car was for the sole purpose to improve performance and drivability. This car is 100% complete. No broken knobs or missing screws, plates etc. Having personally owned a PANTERA L since 1978 was a major influence in the work performed to this Pantera and the parts used to make this car a driver were tested over the years on my own car. Keep in mind this is car is not a museum piece and sounds better than it looks. WORK PERFORMED: This is not a full restoration car but is a major tune up car are noted below: New Brake Master Cylinder. All New Stainless Steel Brake Lines. New Clutch Master Cylinder. All New GATES Green Stripe Hoses and Polished SS Water Pipes. All New Belts. All New Tires. The old tires would not hold air. Refurbished Gotti Wheels. 8" x 15" up front, 10" x 15" in the rear. Brand new 225/50/15 Tires up front and 295/50/15 in the rear. Replaced Cast Iron intake manifold and Motorcraft Carburetor with Edelbrock Aluminum Intake and Holly 600 CFM Carburetor with electric choke and vacuum secondarys. Ford Carburetors were well known for poor performance, flooding and overall driving issues. Replaced Dual Points with Electronic Conversion. Pulled Transaxle and safety wired ring gear. Drained and refilled Transaxle. Replaced all suspension Bushings with Polyurethane and performed (4) wheel alignment. New Plugs and Plug Wires. Set ignition timing and dialed in Carburetor. New Battery. New AM/FM/CD Radio. New Speakers. New Power Antenna. New Rear Deck Lid Gas Lifts. New Head Liner. Steering Rack Bronze Bushing Upgrade was installed. All new door rubbers, trunk rubbers, floor mats and many other parts. New Bronze window Gears. New Headlight Motor Bronze Gear. Flushed gas tank and fuel system. Flushed Cooling system and refilled. New Fuel Pump. New Fuel Lines. Changed Oil and Filter. Evacuated and recharged AC system with Freon 12. Adjusted and lubed Shifter/Shafts/Support Bushing. Adjusted Hydraulic Clutch. All New Coil Over shocks and springs. The old shocks were locked up. Complete New Jet coated Exhaust System and Exhaust Port Plates. Stock System had cracked headers, which was typical with these cars. Port Plates provide improved throttle response with no effect on top end performance. Sound is killer. First one to hear this car will purchase it. Bleed and adjust brakes. HISTORY: This car was purchased from the second owner in 1982 In Dallas Texas and is rust free car that was never driven in the rain nor winters. The car was painted red by the second owner in 1980 but came from the factory silver and black. The second owner also purchased and installed Rear Deck Louvers. I am selling this car for the current owner who has been a close friend for the last 30 years. TERMS: A $1000.00 non-refundable deposit is required within 4 days of the end of the auction. Car and Title will be available after all funds have cleared the bank. This PANTERA is sold as is with no warranty. I do guarantee the car is as nice or nicer as shown in the pictures. This car is by far not perfect and like any 38-year-old car will have a few minor glitches common to all PANTERAs. As noted, I purchased my PANTERA in 1979 and still own it to this day. My PANTERA was actually (10) cars ahead of this GTS on the factory assembly line. It is quite rare to have (2) PANTERAs sitting side by side in my garage (38) years later that were produced at the same time. SUMMARY: You will never see another GTS like this one. Any car can be made to look great on the outside but there is no way to make up for the high miles, rusty under carriage and the toll that cars take when they are from a coastal city with high humidity. This GTS is far rarer than a 2005/2006 FORD GT and at less than ½ the price. Ask any questions: The car is located in PLANO TEXAS and is about a 30-minute drive from DFW Airport.
