Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 1977 Trans Am SE – Y82 L78/w72 400 4 speed It’s a Lombardy cloth interior with Air Conditioning car. Power windows and rear defroster. Well preserved, mostly original survivor car w/ original interior except as noted below. Original trunk spatter, space saver spare and canister, trunk mat and T-top bag! I am the 2nd and current owner of this car. I purchased this vehicle in 1980 From the original owner with 21K miles. It’s a real deal, “Bandit” TA with Poncho 400 motor and 4 speed. I have the original build sheet, original manuals 32 years worth of paperwork and documentation. It has been in 3 major Auto publications including 2 covers. It’s been exhibited at major auto shows and currently shows a mere 76k on the odometer. I retired this car from any and most driving in 1984 w/62k miles. At that time I had the motor and tranny professionally rebuilt. Replaced the carpet and 2 front seat covers. And in 1988 repainted it w/ PPG duracryl black lacquer. I then meticulously hand painted via fine-line, patience and airbrush, all the SE striping, lettering and graphics with correctly matched colors of gold lacquer. The hood chicken has been clear coated. Hence...NO decals to fade or stick-on stripes & lettering to get wax build up on edges. It’s One of a kind! Relevant footnote:I was a scenic/graphics artist for Universal Studios in Orlando, FL for many years...so this quality and type of work is my professional expertise Normal 0 Normal 0 I’ve owned this Gem for 32 years and vowed I’d be buried in it! But personal and financial issues have forced me to sell at this time. It’s been garage kept And covered for the past 30 years. It only gets driven to an occasional car show or special event. Just had the clutch replaced this week. Magazines: HPP June 1999 “My Pontiac and Me” article. One full page w/pics. Car Collector – magazine November 2005. Tire kickers I just don’t have time for right now…sorry! Please feel free to contact me With any and all questions. I can give you as much or little info as u want! After 32 years with this car…I can tell you EVERYTHING!!!! I’m sure I forgot to mention so many details…so if you think of something…ask! feel free to call me 407 402-0234 Tom On Jun-29-12 at 08:16:33 PDT, seller added the following information: Thank you for the incredible interest in my car! To answer some of the frequently asked questions: YES..it is the Original Motor, from Carb to oil pan. Its the Original Borg Warner T-10 transmission and Original 3:23 Posi rear. The Carburetor was restored to Show quality OEM specs by ALL AMERICAN CARBURETORS in Florida. The Engine was professionally rebuilt by LOCKE's Automotive in Enola, PA. in 1984. A performance Engine builder well known in the area for his race winning builds and incredible reputation. YES...I can email you a better version of the Build sheet but please include your email address with your request. NO...there are no rust issues with the car...nor were there ever! I've owned this car 32 years! It's been garaged & covered ALL OF THEM! The exhaust was upgraded to a true, dual aluminized system - from the factory exhaust manifolds back. NO HEADERS!!! it's got flowmaster mufflers. It sounds like a Muscle Car should..but NOT redneck radical by any means! The Original Snowflake wheels were restored 4 years ago...sent off to MI and done the correct way. Blasted, Powder coated, machined and then clear powder coated! The Stainless Center caps are Original GM...been on the car since 1981. Car was built in 12/76 and still retains Original Hurst performance alteration sticker on the door. On Jun-30-12 at 09:46:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to clarify: I guess I was a bit vague, the hood graphic (eagle, chicken, whatever u wanna call it) is painted on. And then was clearcoated w/ urethane clear. It was done 24 years ago and holding up perfectly! Looks 10times better than a matte finish decal! And you can wax the "whole hood" not just around the graphic like with decaled cars! On Jul-03-12 at 16:11:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Just some more good stuff worth sharing! I have Many if Not all receipts for everything ever done to the car including engine rebuild, seats reupholstered, etc., etc., etc. 32 years worth of receipts in a very thick folder! This car was ALWAYS very special to me and it was treated that way. I have 4 polaroid pictures of the car the day I bought it! Including one with me in it! I have the original exhaust piece from the manifold back and including the factory catalytic converter. I kept it all these years up on the rafters of my parents garage. I do not have the single pipe from the converter back or the original transverse muffler. I do have an NOS am/fm radio in the box that goes with the car. if you want photos...email me your address. Thanks
