Vehicle Detail
2nd owner since 9,000 miles in 2004, averaging around 9K miles a year. Original owner made all modifications. After purchasing we removed the rear seats and purchased a custom fit rubber mat with inserts that make the rear floor completely flat. It has a diamond plate appearance and is custom cut to match every edge in the interior, and it is included with the sale. I added one seat back for a car seat about a year ago for my 3 year old (has the new anchors and LATCH system in each), and just removed the other from the plastic yesterday for the pictures, they are like new. There is a little bit of wear on the driver’s seat bottom bolster from getting in and out, but I believe that and a couple of chips on the hood edge are the only imperfections it has. I don’t think it has as much as a door ding. Always stored in a garage its entire life and pretty much like new. Auto Check scored it at a 93 on the check in the auction, no issues and it has been pampered. It hasn't ever played the role as one of our primary drivers. If you are not familiar with these vehicles, their downfalls are that they are slow and tipsy. The automatics and the AWD versions are absolutely pathetic when you push the accelerator, and the stock suspension and wheels are bad enough that we saw some on their sides on the sidewalks on icy days in Denver. That inclined us to consider this (practically new at the time) Element with the suspension, air intake, and exhaust modifications. It is a European style sport shifter from the dash that is great for anyone and the gearing in this model is VERY low. It reminds me of the ES version BMWs with the low gearing for gas mileage. That gearing combined with the modifications to the I-VTEC engine results in an extremely fast result that will pin anyone to the seat through all the gears and with the Konig wheels / oversized tires, will take any corner at any speed without ever squealing a tire. At the same time you are probably noticing the MPG rating being around 26 on the others listed, and it will get close to 30 if you stay out of the throttle. All of that with the reliability and maintenance plan of a Honda. The air compressor for the A/C did go out about a year ago and it was replaced at Don Wessel, where it has been maintained / oil changes, etc. It is the most inexpensive oil change of all the vehicles I own or have ever had. I believe I have all the service records since we purchased it. I did add the U-Haul class 3 hitch to the back so I could use a hitch haul carrier. This is a nice feature if you have a car dolly to pull and then use behind another vehicle/RV. It has full lights and receiver with the lifetime warranty against rust, etc. I believe I have all of the original stock equipment for the suspension, air intake, exhaust, and the stock wheels (nicer non-steel version) and tires that are included with the sale. The current tires on it are 235/55/17. This Element has had the windshield recall work performed at the Honda dealer and the windshield replaced as per the recall. The stereo in these is amazing, separate subwoofer in the center console, CD, MP3 input, and unbelievably loud and clean for a stock system. I went to decide on a price for this and I have never seen a model of car on E-bay with practically nothing sold in the completed listings. The dealers seem to want $10K for this year/mileage for a bone stock Element with steel wheels, and Kelley Blue Book Suggested Value is $8,840-$10,800, so I decided to price this at $8,749 (dropped >$1K on relist) no reserve, despite the $5K plus of modifications. Buyer must contact me via e-mail within 24 hours of the auction close and a deposit of $1000.00 (non-refundable) must be paid within 48 hours of the close of the auction. The remaining balance must be paid within 7 days. Sales tax, licensing, and other taxes are entirely buyers responsibility.
