The car is highly complete and an original restoration project; equipped with the legendary 263 Fireball Inline-8 engine and Dynaflow 2-speed automatic transmission, this example is just waiting to be brought back to its original glory. The Buick Supers of this time period are some of the most beautiful American sedans ever built, and are a classic piece of automotive history. Our Super is black with a grey interior, with an odometer reading in at 46,005 miles. The exterior is not pretty, but has a lot going for it. While the paint is in rough condition and clearly suffering from scratches and exfoliation, the body itself is quite straight with no dents. The undercarriage overall is in excellent shape for its age, with only minor rust. The frame rails, trunk, and rocker panels check out fine, as do the rear floor pans however, there is a small hole in the drivers side floor pan, with some evidence of patching. The glass is in good shape, and the front bumper and waterfall grille still look beautiful. The rear bumper is rusty but solid, and the rear left passenger door is missing a piece of trim. The tires are holding up, but new ones will be needed for road use. However, the hubcaps are in stunning condition, and are true gems toward this Supers appearance. The interior will also need complete restoration, but the workload will be lighter than the exterior; its in fair condition but is mainly functional. The seats have tears, but will only need to be reupholstered. The headliner and interior panels are present and have accumulated some stains and rips over the years. The fuel gauge and cabin lights are currently inoperable, and the AM radio antenna is missing. However, the dashboard, glovebox, interior trim and rubber floor mats are in good condition, and the speedometer and radio still work! Mechanically, the car needs work on leaks (exhaust manifold, transmission, and brakes), and the heater is missing, but again the car is running and driving. It idles well, the engine sounds good, and the carburetor and filters are functional and in good condition. Overall, this Super is a great candidate for a driving restoration. Its largely complete, free of body damage, and structurally sound for its age. Best of all, youll be able to enjoy the vehicle as you bring it back to its gorgeous, original showroom condition.
