1968 Toyota FJ40 LandCruiser for sale. Has clear WV title. Speedo shows 42,288 miles, but the speedo cable is broken, so I do not know the actual mileage. Truck has the original F engine and 3 speed manual column-shift transmission. The truck starts easily and drives great. The brakes work super good and the truck tracks straight if you aplly the brakes and let go of the steering wheel. The emergency brake also works well. The four-wheel drive and low range also work well. The four wheel drive is the rare vacuum operated, so there are no levers in the floor. This truck had a restoration done in the 1990’s and the floorpans and body were redone. Truck shows paint fade and minor rust bubbles under the doors and around the front window frame. The bottoms of the doors have rust, as pictured. Electrical items work including wipers, lights, signal lights, flasher emergency lights, dome light, brake lights, heater, license plate light, temp. gauge, fuel gauge and amp gauge. There is an oil gauge installed under the dash that is a manual type gauge that works and the truck has good oil pressure. The oil gauge in the dash also is not broken, but it is not hooked up. The only thing that does not work electrically is the cigarette lighter and there is no horn installed under the hood. The back doors work great and are in good shape. Would be a great truck to use for a restoration project or use as a driver. The gas tank has been redcoated in the past year and is in great shape.Recent work:New Head Gasket.New Intake Gasket.New Brakes installed all the way around. Drums were turned.New Fuel Pump.Fresh Distributor Rebuild.New Thermostat.New Coil and Plugs and Wires.Carbeurator is from a later model Land Cruiser. Manual choke works.New Fuse Block installed. All electrical parts work except there is no horn on the truck.Heavy Duty battery installed.Fresh professional rebuild on radiator.Gas tank was redcoated on the inside.Fairly new muffler.New BF Goodrich Radial Long Trail T/A P235 75R15 tires on new Wagon Wheels.New Air Filter. Things Needing Work:It needs new shocks.The trucks sits lower on the left side because of the springs . It is not a frame issue. There are more leafs in some of the springs than others. I was planning on a lift kit with new springs and that would change the profile of the truck. It is still very drivable and is not a problem other than if you look closely, you can see that the left rear sits a littler lower than the right side.The windshield has a crack in the lower passengers side. Does not need replaced unless you need a sticker on the truck.This is not a show truck by any means, but is a great, dependable driver. Would be a nice truck just the way it is, or a great start on a rebuild of your choice.The reserve on the truck is very low compared to the prices that these trucks have been bringing. You will be happy with this one.The truck is not currently tagged, so please do not bid on this if you are planning to pick it up and drive it 200 miles home on the interstate. The truck has a top end around 65 to 70 mph. You could drive the backroads and it would be fine.PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE BIDDING ON A 1968 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER!!!
