Vehicle Detail
this mercedes/dodge sprinter is badged mercedes. when we purchased it, it was titled as a dodge, and the manuals say dodge, but the badge is mercedes and vermont made us re-title it. it is BLUE, an uncommon color for the sprinter. we purchased it on ebay march of last year with about 95K miles on it. virtually all the miles we put on it are highway miles. i am including pics of the vehicle and all the spots and dings that i could see. if i missed one, it was not intentional. all of them were there, except the long scratch down the passenger side, when we purchased it. what we did learn is how the "dent" on the driver's side door arose. the FIRST time we drove it, we stopped at a diesel truck stop in PA and the wind grabbed it out of my hubby's hand and blew the door wide open really hard. i think we may have added to the current dent some, so that pic was updated. there is also a long white scrape/scratch on the passenger side. someone must have done that when we were parked somewhere. we haven't hit anything, so who knows where these dings come from when you drive a vehicle for a living. i do believe we need to fix the driver's side passenger sliding door. if memory serves, it was in need of some attention. we haven't driven it since last november, but we have started it from time to time. don't need the big vehicle now that the whole family isn't traveling together. oh yes, we also have the entire set of service manuals on our computers. that's how you get it these days and we will gladly give it to you. it includes: sprinter service manual, powertrain diagnostic and repair manual, chassis diagnostic and repair manual, body diagnostic and repair manual, and transmission diagnostic and repair manual. this vehicle also has a bench that can be removed, if you do not want it. there is also a divider between the cargo and seat area, to keep the cool/heat on you and not disburse it into the whole vehicle, rendering you roasting or freezing. the vehicle looks pretty darn good, runs great and has been kept in clean condition. this sprinter, has the 2.7L MERCEDES-BENZ DIESEL engine, is one of, if not the very best, cargo vans in the areas of reliability, fuel mileage, and cost to maintain. the unladen weight is 5360 and the GVWR is 8550. here's what we know has been done to maintain/improve the vehicle: prior owner:85K--air filter replaced88K--inter-cooler and driver's side intake hoses were changed88K--serpentine belt was replaced94K--belt tensioner replaced us:100K--full service performed per the owners maintenance log suggestions and all recommended oil changes, which is not more than every 10,000 miles. additional full set of 4 cooper discoverer HT tires P225/70R15. based on the type of driving we would be doing (highway) we decided we needed different tires than were already on the vehicle. those tires were in great shape, but it was determined they weren't the best for highway driving. so, you get 2 full sets of tires with lots of tread left on both. the separate tire pics are the ones that came with the vehicle. one set is the front and one is the back. the back is the heavier looking tires and they are not the same as the front tires. that i don't know anything about--why they are different. all 4 on the vehicle now are the same. Pick-up/shipping instructions:if you live in canada, you will have to come to wells, vt to pick it up. i don't have a passport. the van is not currently registered, insured, or inspected. i cannot drive it to you (i don't think) without that being done, but you can pick it up. vermont is a fantastic place to visit and we live in a great place!! we can talk about this and i can contact the vt dmv to see what is required. please email with any questions. i will try to answer as best as possible.
