Vehicle Detail

1973 Pontiac Trans Am (VIN: 2V87Y3N124292, License Plate: 3DVH671) – This car has had only two owners, and has only 84,000 miles on its speedometer. The car is stock except for the transmission, which was converted to automatic, and there were additional high performance parts to replace certain factory parts when the engine was overhauled and bored out (so technically larger than the original 455) at 79,000, such as a high performance cam, headers, Edelbrock Manifold, Edelbrock Carburetor, B&M Automatic Shifter, etc. The wheels, which are Center Line, are missing 3 of the caps, and the tires are brand new. The body has no rust and is in great condition, while the interior is in good condition with newly reupholstered seats, it does need some work such as the side door panels, but the wear on the inside is not very noticeable and does not diminish the car in the least. The car comes without a stereo, and speakers have only been installed on the driver and passenger doors. The only major issue with the interior has to do with the trunk, which does not have carpeting. There is also no air conditioning, but the car was purchased without this option. The car does have the original 1973 car manual, along with other documents at the time of sale, and I can contact the original owner if someone wants any additional information about the car’s first years on the road. This car was sold on April 7, 1973 at a dealership in Visalia, CA. While this car is not show room perfect, its great overall condition makes it an ideal project for someone who would love to restore a 1973 Trans Am completely to show condition without having to spend a lot of time, money and effort in doing so. In other words, this car is a great find and will be sure to turn heads wherever you drive it. In other words, this car is a great find and will be sure to turn heads wherever you drive it. I mistakenly listed this item as being the SD 455. Since I can't confirm that this is indeed an SD 455, I'm changing it to the base 455 (which has been overhauled and bored out to a larger size than original). I attempted to find the engine ID, but I cannot tell. I have placed a call to the original owner to see if he can verify if he purchased the SD 455, or the base 455. If it is indeed the SD 455, I will update this item again. I think the date purchased and what I remember the owner telling me led me to list it as the SD 455 since the first SD 455s were delivered in April 1973. I'm adding a couple of pictures that are of the engine. On Jun-21-12 at 13:09:13 PDT, seller added the following information: I have confirmed that the engine is not the SD 455 and is the 455 base. I was able to find the engine code and it was ZZ, which is coded to be the 455 base with manual transmission.
