You are bidding on an 81 Fiat X/19 with some major modifications. Before I get into all of the racing mods let me just say that this car has a clean title, Current registration until April of 2013 and has been a Southern California car its entire life even passes smog. She has been in two road races at button willow in the past 10 years. Since then she has been enjoyed on the roads of southern California. My buddy had owned this car for 25 years until earlier this year when I purchased it from him. Here are the mods. As you can see by the photos there is a significant roll cage in the car along with a single racing seat. It looks very uncomfortable but surprisingly it’s quite nice. You will enjoy the low seat position. Currently I am running a stock 1500CC unit with a 4 speed transmission. The transmission is not stock It has the higher 4th gear ring and pinion for so you can go faster than stock, 70 in 4th is 4000rpm. The 4 speed is the preferred transmission for racing these cars. It is also a lighter transmission and the axels are lighter as well. Speaking of weight I am told this car is around 1870lbs but have not attempted weighing it. With the trunk cut out and the seats removed and the original suspension replaced with custom Koni Coil overs to boot she handles great. There is a fuel cell in the front replacing the standard tank in the middle. Aluminum radiator and stainless steel over flow tank. She has Adjustable camber plates and a front sway bar. I recently had the car detailed. Oh also notice that all of the places where you would normally find an emblem have been covered over and some nice touches on the body work help conceal certain areas where the factory had weld points. Also the bumpers have been tastefully removed. If you want to make me an offer you are welcome. You are welcome to inspect the car prior to purchase. The only negative the car has is there is a hair line crack in the windshield. I assume the buyer of this car will be looking to buy a plexi shield to save weight. No test drives unless I see some cash and you are able to get in and out without hurting yourself. Please do all of your inspecting/tire kicking etc before the end of the auction.
