Vehicle Detail
1955 DODGE C3 JOB RATED PICKUP TRUCK This is a man’s work truck from 55+ years ago. This is a ½ ton pickup truck. I bought this truck for a project on the side, then I got married, then I bought a house, then I had no time… So now this project has to GO! This thing has the potential to be a beauty though as a truck or a RATROD! When I bought the truck it had California license plates on it but I can not say 100% that the truck came from there, as I do not have a title for the truck or any more history than what the guy I bought it from told me. I believe this has a 259 V8 engine in it. I know it is a V8 but unsure if 259 is 100% correct. You will be able to see in a video link here on YOUTUBE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTlojpBaCYY&feature=bf_prev&list=UUt6dKjyuhckJgqN_dGtmTpw) that the motor is free and does turn over strong. The transmission is 3 on the tree. You can shift it into all gears including neutral. As you can see from the pictures there is not a windshield or back glass in the cab at this time. I DO however have the windshield and back glass (which they are both curved glass) in tact in the attic of my garage with no cracks. The seals on the windows were dry rotted badly and I removed the glass before it possibly fell out or broke. Again the back glass to this truck is a full one piece wrap around window and is very nice. You do not see the full glass very often; normally you will see the small curved corner windows or one flat piece of glass in the rear. Not a huge open window concept like this one. You can see the glass in a picture both in tact but again with no seal. The side glass, which is all flat glass, is all there but would probably need to be replaced. The cab of the truck is solid all the way around except the floor. The floor is pretty much gone but you can judge the severity from the pictures provided. The sheet metal on the front of the truck is all there. The passenger fender was worked on at some point but never finished and the rest of the sheet metal is all there with the majority of it all being surface rust. There is one cab corner that needs some work because it is dented but the other seems alright. There are some dents in the sheet metal as well here and there but what do you expect from a work truck that is 55+ years old. The box is just resting on the truck and not actually secured by any means. The box was fastened when I got it but it was not being held on by much so I took it off and placed it out back behind the shed to store it. But to show you what it looks like I have set the box back on the truck for pictures. The seat in the truck was in rough shape and again I took it out and placed it behind the shed to store. The frame of the seat appears to be in good shape but the fabric is junk. This seat does fold forward on both the passenger and the drivers side. I do still have the seat and you will see that in a picture as well. It is yours to take if you want it or I will junk it if you have no use for it. There is also one running board in the picture of the seat that is yours as well. The frame on this truck looks solid. I personally want to push this out back and keep it for a future rat rod project but I just don’t know when I would get to it and I would rather someone else have the opportunity to make it into what it deserves. Also not shown is the rear bumper. I do have a rear bumper for this truck as well. I guess I never snapped a shot of it to put it on here, but you will have a rear bumper to take with you as well. There is a box of parts that were scattered around the truck when I bought it. I put together a box and will be including those parts in the auction as well. You will see the parts that go with the truck in a picture. I bought this truck with high expectations to get something done but it slowly turned into a project that has putted out of gas and I have no time. Again I have NO TITLE for this truck and this is being sold as-is with no warranty. What you see is what you get. Feel free to stop and take a look before you bid. Thanks for looking and if you have any questions feel free to ask. The date on the pictures is incorrect. I never reset the camera. The correct date the pictures were taken on was 06/12/12. AS ALWAYS NO RESERVE!!! On Jun-14-12 at 04:26:52 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to add, This item IS NOT listed locally and WILL NOT be removed by myself if one would want to buy it locally. This truck unlike many others out there is for sale on EBAY only!!! So Good Luck Bidding as it is only going to find a new home that way!!! Thanks On Jun-16-12 at 19:32:49 PDT, seller added the following information: If you have less than (5) FIVE feedback rating, please contact me and let me know you are a serious bidder as I do not want to have to re-list this truck because of a non-paying bidder. I want everyone to have an equal chance to take this home! Thanks On Jun-17-12 at 13:00:27 PDT, seller added the following information: NEW TRUCK AND MOTOR INFORMATION!!!! The Vehicle Number on the cab is 84271160. The Model Number on the Cab is C3-B8-108. The Maximum Gross weight listed on the cab is 5100 pounds. The certified Net Horsepower is 134 at 4400 RPM and the certified Gross Horsepower is 169 at 4400 RPM. All of the numbers listed above are on the physical tag on the truck cab. All of the numbers are physically stamped in the tag. ALSO - There is a number on the Intake of the truck and that number is 1409375-5. I hope this information helps all of you out there! Thanks Again On Jun-18-12 at 10:58:26 PDT, seller added the following information: I was asked about storing truck for a while after end of auction. Yes I am willing to store truck for anyone that needs some time to pick it up. I need gone before the snow flies but that gives a person quite a bit of time. I would like to see gone NO LATER than September. Obviously the sooner the better but I have had the truck in my garage since I purchased it and I need my garage back. So Yes I will store the truck for a while but to be honest it will be outside with a tarp over the cab and hood only as I need the garage back. If you are thinking you would need more time to arrange a pick up or would need this vehicle stored please contact me so I would know such. Again any other questions please feel free to shoot me a message. Thanks
