TRIUMPH TR – 250 I have owned this Triumph TR-250 since 2004 when I purchased it in California and drove it back to the East coast along Rt. 66 (where possible). My Healey has now been restored and I need room in the garage so the Triumph is for sale. During my ownership it has always been parked in a dry garage. The TR-250 was a transition model produced for only 15-16 months. The body retains the classic Michelotti TR4 styling in combination with the more powerful TR6 straight 6 cylinder/2500cc engine. This rare car is very fun to drive yet has the appearance of a true classic British Roadster. Fewer than 8500 examples were made and few of these exist today. This is an early November 1967 production car and was re-painted to its original Triumph British Racing Green color. The car was completely dis-assembled to bare metal and restored prior to my purchase by the former owner. At that time every component was replaced or rebuilt including all rubber and a completely new interior: seats, panels, carpet console plus the trunk lining kit, etc. This rebuild is documented in numerous pictures which are included in the purchase. Since then I have taken the car on several long distance trips. It is very well-suited for road trips because it has the rare A-type overdrive and the larger six cylinder engine and drive train of the TR6. The car has compression of 120-130lbs in all cylinders. Note: Car has wire wheels, Stainless steel exhaust, correct reflector type TR-250 top and correct TR-250 front hood (bonnet) decal . Tires are in very good shape and have many miles left on them. During my ownership I have performed the following work on the car. Added Moto-Lita wood steering wheel (2004) Installed auxillary DC power source behind dashboard— for phone charger etc. (2004) New Brake master cylinder & Clutch master cylinder (2012) New Front Over-riders (2007R & 2012L) Replaced Motor Mounts (2011) New Rotor (2011) Pertronic electronic Ignition Installed (2007) New Horns (2007) New Spark Plug Wire Set (2007) Carburettors rebuilt (2007) Front Suspension Rebuilt (L&R) (2007) Replaced Rear Shock Links (2011) Replaced front front suspension bushings with poly type. (2011) Lubricate Wheel Splines (2011) Set Wheel alignment, Toe & Camber(2011) The Speedometer was replaced with a good used TR-250 speedo. (2011) Therefore, the speedometer mileage does not reflect the car’s actual mileage since its 2002 restoration when it was reset to Zero (0) actual mileage. The car has less than 15,000 miles on it since the complete nut & bolt restoration in 2002. Official Workshop manual in very good condition included with sale. Issues: There is a small hole in the convertible top at Right rear above window area. Top (boot) cover is usable but needs to be replaced. I will add a Moss top cover for the Purchaser that uses the Buy It Now feature. Today it is a strong runner-driver car; it is not a show car but rather one that an owner can enjoy driving on sunny days with confidence. I’ve had loads of fun driving this car on winding roads. Delivery will take place after payment. This will save the buyer substantially vs. having the car shipped. Alternatively, I will facilitate shipping of the car through you selected transporter.
