FOR SALE is A UNIQUE 1970 ROLLS ROYCE SILVER SHADOW SALOON WITH SERVICE RECORDS DATING BACK TO THE ORIGINAL ROLLS ROYCE 50 PAGE BUILD SHEETS DATING FROM THE 30TH OF JANUARY TILL THE 24TH APRIL 1970 TOGETHER WITH A COMPREHENSIVE SERVICE HISTORY FROM 1970 TO 2007 CHASSIS NUMBER: # SRH8525 ENGINE NUMBER: # 8525 GEARBOX: # RR70-1522 This car started life on the 30th of January 1970 and was completed on the 24th of April 1970. There is a 50 page build sheet showing every stage of the construction and assembly of this vehicle, including the names and signatures of all the craftsmen who assembled this car. The vehicle was first sold on the 22nd of May 1970 to the premier Rolls Royce main dealer, H.R. Owen of 17, Berkeley Street, London W 1, it was used as the official Dealership demostrator for the first 3,343 miles of it's life, then used by various H.R. Owen Directors, before being sold on to a British Diplomat, N.L. Clifton Esq. of 132 Willow Tree Lane.Hayes Middlesex in 1971. He owned the car for the next 11 years, until 1982. At which time the Rolls was sold to a Hollywood Executive and imported into the United States in 1983, where it was used very sparingly and remained in Los Angeles until it was sold to a close friend in 2006 and moved to Palm Springs. In 2007, the car was completely rebuilt mechanically backed up with receipts totalling $ 10,465.72, and include: 2/15/07: invoice number: # 1554 amounting to $ 2,789- for a full 30,000 mile service 3/22/07: invoice number: # 3329 amounting to $ 1,598- for a full brake rebuild 3/30/07: invoice number: # 3348 amounting to $ 541- for electrical trouble shooting and on 9/18/07: invoice number: # 3677 amounting to $ 5,531- for a full engine rebuild and updated desert radiator. There are over 160 pages of history and receipts for this car, together with the original Factory build sheets. This is probably one of the finest and best documented early chrome bumber Silver Shadows around, the car has never been damaged, and has no rust whatsoever. Add to this a wonderful colour combination, Regal Red over Beige, the paint is in very good condition, there are no scrapes or scratches other than a small area under the exhaust. The interior is in excellent condition all round, the original wood is perfect as you would expect from a car that has been garaged all it's life. The interior is devoid of the usual signs of wear and tear, there are no split seams or signs of ingress and egress wear. The headliner, in light Fawn Ambla, code: BE. 135 is in perfect condition with no stains of any kind and does not sag. It runs on near new Kelly 225x70x15s tires which have only a few miles on them. The a/c has been recharged and checked for leaks and now blows ice cold. All the electrics work, including all lights, horn, interior lights, map lights, side and headlights, main/dipped, turn signals, wipers, and all instruments other than the clock.The gas gauge is tempermental, and works intermitently. Here is an opportunity to own a wonderful vintage Rolls Royce, with impeccable provenance, and only 2,500- miles since all the required repairs were carried out. All chrome and hub caps are in great condition and devoid of dents. All windows are clear, free from any kind of crack or chips. That said, please remember that the vehicle is over 42 years young and is showing only minimal signs of normal use for it's age, the original foot rests come with the car, as well as the original owner's manual in mint condition. On one of the most recent bills, the miles recorded were 98,566, instead of 95,566. The speedo needle at rest masks part of the odometer, accounting for the error, and subsequent invoices confirm this to be correct.
