Vehicle Detail
1934 Ford 3 window I have owned this car for about 7 years. The title is clear and in my name. The previous owner had it in his garage since 1976, I don't know where it lived before then. The framerails are ASC reproductions, they were cut at the firewall and 32 front horns were welded on and then they were boxed end to end. The rear rails are bobed off but they were cut as well and swept up 2 1/2". Plenty of travel in the back and plenty of room for exhaust to get out the back OVER the rear end. There are crossmembers in the chassis, they are all tacked in only so if you don't like something you can easily remove it and fabricate what ever you would like. The front crossmember is a model a style, it pushes the wheelbase out a little bit and lines the front tires up with the grill and gets the car lower than it could ever be with a stock style crossmember. This move requires a custom height radiator....the radiator is included and it is gorgeous, manufactured by AutoRad. All chassis fab was done on a table, the rails are straight and square. Current drivetrain setup is for a small block chevy and a tko 5 speed. I do not have a grill for this car. The one that came with it was almost to bad for a rat rod.......I had planned on running a new Drake grill. The hood is original 1934. When I found that it was still wearing orginal paint. The hood is nice overall, the tops have some dings and waves and one hood side has a crease near the front......an afternoon's worth of metal work. The passenger side door is bashed in pretty good at the beltline. It will take some repair but it will be easier to deal with because the doors have no inner structure at all. The inners were mangled and full of (Lightening) holes so I removed what was left to make the patchwork and latch setup easier. The new door bottoms are welded on (tig) but do need to be metal finished yet. Bear Claw latches are installed and I fabbed some linkage to make stock type outside handles work. I have aftermarket parts to run power window, inside door handles, and electric suicide locks....all included. I planned on fabbing new inner structure for the doors, something like what Walden does on his. Decklid was reskinned with a Steves piece and rehung on repro hinges to tubing structure inside the car. It needs a little fit up work. The body was channeled when I got it.....a lot. After the chassis was done the new subrails were fit to it. Subrails were split length wise and 2" were added to them....just enought to cover the framerail. Then the floors were fabricated and welded to the subrails, and then the body was fit up to the chassis. The doors swing open and closed with no shims under the subrails. Both cowl sides and lower quarters have been patched and metal finished. The rear tubs were bult to stock(ish) dimensions by hand. I hammer formed them and they came out pretty well. The tubs are welded in but need to be metal finished yet. The rear bumper is a love it/hate it thing. I wanted a tube bumper but I didn't want it straight, so we shaped it to match the curve of the tail pan and then fabbed the sheetmetal so it could mounted into the body slightly. I planned on capping the ends of the bumpers with tail lights or tail light mounts....your call. I started bulding b pillars out of sheetmetal, I got to the beltline and stopped. The lower two hinges are mounted on both sides. The b pillars were to be finished after the chop was done. At some point a 33 cowl was swapped on to this body. The welds look like they were stick welded so that goes back quite a ways. There is some rot in the cowl vent drain. I have a really nice original to weld in there along with an extra lid and an original screen. The channel for the roof insert needs a little repair and the strip that goes in there, not sure what it is called, tack strip? is intact as well. Garnish mouldings are from Iversen Originals. I couldn't see spending $2,500 or more for originals or Steve's and then cutting them in half. I bought these in pieces for half price so that they could be fitted to the car after the chop. The main section of floor is 14 gauge. The firewall is 16 gauge and uses the original top section with the zig zag bead turned around. It needs a toe board and trans tunnel built and the floors would be finished. The rear floor is 16 gauge as well. Those bubble in the trunk cover up the coil over mounts. I didn't want them hanging out back so I mounted them on top of the axle and into the trunk. Lots of extra parts are included. Wood Art top bows and back window surround. All the parts to make the back window function except the glass. Windshield frame has some rot in the lower center, there is a windshield regualator as well. Glass channels and a bunch of new rubber parts. Insided and outside door handles all of the necessary cowl vent parts, etc, etc. This was my personal project and I just don't have the time or space to dedicate to it on my own. On May-27-12 at 11:41:19 PDT, seller added the following information: There have been some questions regarding the single picture showing the car as a roller. The wheels and tires along with suspension components have been used for other projects or sold off to fund other projects. You are bidding on sheetmetal and related parts and a custom built frame with no suspension parts at all.
