Vehicle Detail

This is a very low milage 1978 Fiat 124 Spider that has been in storage since the year 2000. It has a CLEAN TITLE and is a complete original California Spider. This car was running and driving when parked in storage 12 years ago. The motor turns over easily and has good compression and was owned and driven by a Senior Citizen. All the electrical seems to work fine and it has 4 matching like new tires. The brakes work fine and it is stock and complete with no motor or suspension modifications. The body is good with the exception of three bondo cracked areas shown in the pictures of the car, the car was originally green but changed to blue. This is a very solid car inside and out and has good glass all around. It needs a new soft top (the frame is very good), needs the front seats recovered, needs a better carpet kit, the console is complete but the rear of it needs recovering, needs a new paint job, one door panel needs repair on the top edge, needs new side mirror glass and the dash has the typical crack on top. This is a great start for a nice low milage restoration project. This is not a car you are going to drive home but should be gone through prior to starting and driving. I am including a new timing belt (not installed yet-the other one seems fine but because of the age should be replaced) and a shop manuel with the car. These are terrific cars and with Fiat back in the USA they are gaining popularity fast. If you are looking for a non-rusty California low milage car this is the one for you. Here is a little snippet fom Wikipedia on the Spider: The 124 Sport Spider is a 2+2 convertible sports car marketed by Fiat from 1966 to 1979 – having debuted at the November 1966 Turin Auto Show. Designed and manufactured by Italian carrozzeria Pininfarina, Fiat and Pininfarina continued to market the monocoque-bodied car as the 2000 Spider from 1979 to 1982. Pininfarina itself assumed the car's marketing from 1983 to the end of its production in 1985 – as the Pininfarina Spider Azzura. The body of the car was designed and marketed by Pininfarina. The convertible body was designed directly by Sergio Pininfarina, who used the already available designs of Chevrolet Corvette “Rondine” and Ferrari 275 GTS. Several years later, in 1980, on the 50th anniversary of Pininfarina, this fact was further emphasized by producing a limited Tributo Ferrari model under the “Pininfarina 2000 Spider” label, which was directly influenced by a larger Ferrari 275 GTS. In 1972, a sports version of the Spider was revealed. This was required for a type-approval of its rally version, which earned some remarkable success. The models sold in showrooms were marked as 124 CSA (C-Spider-Abarth). The vehicle had a capacity of 128 hp. In three years, Fiat manufactured less than 1,000 CSA models, which were intended for sale to individual clients. Apart from Tributo Ferrari, this is one of the versions most eagerly sought by collectors.
