Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1982 Fiat X1/9 with 83,150 original miles. The Fiat X1/9 is a two seater, mid-engine sports car with a removable Targa roof. It has a fuel injected 4 Cyl. with plenty of power. Because of the engine location, these cars are known for great handling, and a spirited driving experience. The car gets 31mpg so you won't have to stop for gas very often. The car was bought brand new, by me, at a Henry Mearig Fiat in East Petersburg PA. I only had the car serviced at the dealership, and only one mechanic worked on it while it was there. After Fiat dealerships closed, I followed this mechanic to his own shop, and it has continued to be serviced by him for 30 years since I purchased it new. Since the first oil change, I have always run synthetic oil, and it has been changed religiously. I been a professional car detailer for 22 years by trade, so it has never gone without a coat of wax, and never put away dirty. It has been garage kept, never been in any sort of collision, and the car has had ZERO paintwork. There is no hidden damage that repainted cars often hide. The pictures will speak for themselves and they show exactly how the car looks in person. The X 1/9 was designed by Bertone Coach builders, so I replaced the Fiat badges with original Bertone badges. It ads a neat Italian look that would have been stock on European ordered modals. The only thing that is not stock on the car is the radio. I have replaced the original with a Blaupunkt AM/FM, CD player. It has a removable faceplate for safe keeping while the car is out with the top off. As with any car that is 30 years old, it does have a few blemishes to speak of. The drivers seat it cracked where you sit, and has a small split in the rear seam. The sun has split the dash just above the interment cluster. It could use a new passenger side sun visor, but original is still there. When I originally bought it, I drove it without floor mats, so the drivers side carpet is worn through from my heel. Since than I have purchased floor mats that cover this perfectly. It also has a split in the front chin spoiler that is easily repairable. I have included detailed pictures of all of this as I have nothing to hide. I will except PayPal, money orders, certified check, or cash-in-hand. I have a clear title so it will be able to be processed immediately with the buyer. I am located several miles from Manheim Auto Auction, so this is a shipping hub for vehicles. I am willing to help you arrange for shipping wherever it may need to go at the buyers expense. I never intended to sell this car EVER, but I am 55 and have started to develop arthritis. I'm no longer comfortable driving it and sadly, no longer get to enjoy it. I hate to part with the car, but it needs a new home where it is used and enjoyed. It is currently insured for $12,000, and is worth every penny that I am asking, so please do not contact me with low-ball offers as I am not under any sort of pressure to sell. I am more than willing to discuss anything about the car whatsoever with whoever might be interested. I know everything about it, and am an open book for any questions that you might have. My cell is 717-203-2719. My name is Phil, and I'm available whenever to talk about the car.
