1964 Karmann Ghia CoupeOdometer show 85,757 but actual miles are unknown.Mechanically, it starts right up. It idles a little rough, but a fresh tune-up would make it purr.It has been parked in one spot for a number of weeks and there is absolutely no oil/fluid spots left on ground when it was moved.The cluth engages all gears from 1st to 4th. It has no problem shifting into reverse.The brakes respond firmly and sufficiently.The transmission has upgraded, higher-quality, red injection-molded urethane mounts, which minimize transmission chassis flex.The front trunk release cable is intact and releases hood cleanly. The same goes for the rear release cable: it is fully intact and releases rear engine hood without problem.Bodywise, it is in very good condition without any major rust holes. There are the usual, to-be-expected minimal surface rust spots which will obviously be easily dealt with by whoever will be performing the final prep work for painting. There is a metal plate patch in the rear driver's side floor (shown in picture) It does not appear to be rust-through upon inspection from the bottom, but may have been inserted from the metal beginning to get thin in that area. Seemingly, most of the preliminary paint preparation work has been performed. One would suggest a final prep phase to prepare the body for the painting process. The seats, both front and rear, are in amazingly untorn condition. The rear seat is a little rough, but at least it is torn-free.The dash is in good condition as well. It is a warped from the sun, but complete and crack-free. The door and window handles are present for both driver and passenger sides. Both doors open well from both the inside and outside, and both windows roll up and down without issue. The glass all around is complete and crack-free. The rear side-vent windows open and close without problem. The plastic knob is not connected on one side but is included.The front left signal light is complete and present. The right side amber lens with retaining ring is present but the base is missing. It is not possible to install without the base, so it is not present in the pictures, but will be included.Seals and weatherstripping around the bumpers, front signal light, and doors are either in need or replacing, or not present. A good all-around rubber seal and weatherstripping replacement is recommended.The driver's side windshield wiper arm is present, but the passengers side is missing. It does need some minor electrical refreshing: the front turn signals do not have bulbs and the wires need to be connected. The headlights do work, both normal and highs, but is spotty when the high footswitch is clicked with foot. A good going over with electrical contact spray is recommended.NOT INCLUDED: interior door panels, carpet, exterior trim, spare tire and tire-changing tools are all NOT present Please familiarize yourself with the pictures, description, and terms of this listing thoroughly before making a bid. Doors, trunk and hood all fit snug and well. This car was a project that was started with every intention of a complete restoration, and it would not take much to finish to completion. Finishing the body prep work for primer and paint as well as a few parts replacement would make this Karmann Ghia a gem to be admired and respected.
