It is DOT/EPA exempt as a 25 year old import. It has the original Australian DOT Certification as well, riveted to the seat mounts. There are only 2 others in North America, one is blue and is in Southern CA and will not be sold ever says the owner (she was last offered $48,000 by ICON and turned it down!), the other is mustard colored and it was last seen in Florida in 2007. This one, and the blue one are "Deluxe" models, which include added center dash console, better climate control systems, nicer than stock seats, automatic glow plug system, fender flares (one has a crack, see photos, it is the right rear), mud flaps, and some other nice extras that the standard versions did not come with. Also included the sliding rear side windows borrowed from the designs of the 70 series at the time (different shape/size) The truck has been preserved well and is not rusted. It does not appear to leak any fluids. It has only 59,xxx original actual miles (99k km) and all original except leaf springs and wheels/tires. These cars are all RHD, they never made a LHD version. They were sold only into select countries. No accident history. Clean straight collector eligible vehicle. The truck is titled in California, USA and has been since 2009. It was originally imported into Florida direct from Australia. All numbers match. These were only made for 2 years. This is a 1982, which is the first year offered. Toyota L series 4 cylinder diesel motor like in the un-killable Toyota Hilux diesel pickups. The transmission and transfer case shift nice, and overall it drives well. This particular FJ22 was fit with optional differentials that have higher ring and pinion ratios than stock. This allows the vehicle to have a nice slow controllable crawl speed for off-road, or backing up your trailer. With the larger tires, it still goes pretty well on the street at speed. It has the following "known" issues: - Door Mirrors need replacement (we are looking for replacements, if we find any, we will throw them in)- Shocks a bit bouncy, should replace sometime soon, they are inexpensive and available at NAPA or Toyota, same as small Toyota pickups use.- Tires are down to 30% so replacement will be needed by end of the year if you plan to drive it around a lot.- Dent in Driver's Side... (see photos) we chose not to repair this, because we want to leave all original paintwork. (New owner can then chose how best to fix or leave as is.... but we want you to see what you are getting.) We chose to do NO paintwork underneath the car so that buyers can see the original under body and chassis and drive line parts. Nothing under the car has ever been painted from what we can tell and no rust repairs have ever been done or needed from what we can tell. The truck rides on 33x12.5x15 Pro Comp X-Terrains on aftermarket steel wheels. Swing out tire carrier and front safari brush bar fit in Australia. Cool ambulance style rear doors. Skidplate on t-case Am radio works Original Asin front hubs in excellent condition Factory overlander air intake for water fording. Factory BJ type diesel fuel filter setup Car is listed at $22,500, now reduced to $19,500Please send in your offers, we will consider them.
