Vehicle Detail
First off, this Bronco has absolutely no rust, has never had any rust, and has absolutely no modifications. It is 90% original paint, original upholstery and has had no body work of any kind ever. I bought this Bronco in 2006, from the 76 year old son of the original owner, at 56,000 miles. It was in the high and dry area of Colorado since new, always garaged and cherished. I did extensive detail work on it and have maintained it since. I have put about 5,000 miles on it and it runs and drives excellent. It has been totally reliable, has never been apart, and is mechanically excellent. It runs cool, has good oil pressure and everything works as it should. I looked at over 30 Broncos, over a five year period, before finding this one. I wanted the base model, with rubber floor mats and without the fancy interior and outside trim. This truck shows the result of very careful use and good care from new. It is the kind of old car or truck that most people, myself included, hope to find, unrestored and not needing restoration. It has the right look and attracts a lot of attention and compliments. The steering wheel and dash pad are perfect, as are the rubber floor mats. The entire interior is clearly excellent. The body is absolutely rust free. It was dealer undercoated and that remains intact and solid. The underside areas not undercoated are original paint or primer. I have done nothing underneath except cleaning and darkening the undercoat in visible areas with flat black. There are small areas of blended paint repair, all on the sides below the side trim. This was done to eliminate stone chips and some small dings. No dents. These trucks did not have much paint from the factory, and in certain light there are areas on the sides where the primer is starting to show through slightly. The aluminum and chrome trim on the outside is excellent, as are the body seals, gaskets, lenses and fasteners. I have done very little on it mechanically. I did replace the ignition module, and it and the battery are the only visible parts, not from FoMoCo, under the hood. It runs and drives very well and it is fun to drive. All the gauges work correctly, including both tank readings, and the tank selector valve works perfectly. It is smog exempt in California, but all of the original smog equipment is intact and functioning. It has new B F Goodrich Long Trail radials. To my standards this Bronco needs nothing. It has a very small ding on the front of the right front fender, less than the size of a dime, and a very shallow ding on the front of the hood. They are probably both fixable by a paintless dent guy. There are two stone chips in the original windshield. It leaks a small amount of oil, not enough to show on the dip stick at 2,000 miles when I have changed the oil. I can honestly say this truck is as nice as I am describing. I am sure there are nicer ones, but I haven't seen one and I don't know of one. I welcome your closest inspection, in person or by your representative. This truck has no secrets. I have had and worked on many, many wonderful old cars and trucks, and I do know a good one. This one is truly exceptional and will not disappoint. It is time for me to downsize and move ahead with other projects. Please feel welcome to call or email with any questions. There are many more detailed photos available to a serious prospective buyer. I am located about an hour above San Diego, in beautiful Fallbrook California. I am an hour from the San Diego or Ontario airports if you want to make a personal inspection. I can coordinate pickup by a transporter of your choice. I will require a $2,000.00 non-refundable deposit by Paypal, within 24 hours of the auction ending, with the balance due in cash or by wire transfer within 5 days of the end of the auction. I reserve the right to end the auction early if a sale is made locally. The early Broncos are presently seeing an increase in interest and are appreciating in value. There have been some very impressive sale amounts at some of the big auctions recently. If you want an exceptional, collectible truck, this is a good one to put your money in. I hope the next owner will enjoy this little truck as much as I have enjoyed working on it, taking care of it, and driving it. PHIL:760 451 1978
