1972 OLDSMOBILE ..................***REAL 442 FASTBACK!***.........I bought this Oldsmobile from the second owner. He has owned this 442 since April 5th, 1979. I have a folder full of receipts....including the original sales receipt from 1979! I recently bought this 442 with the intentions of restoring for myself and my personal collection but have since changed my mind. This car is all there.....it is in very good restoreable shape. Most everything is there.....This Cutlass is quite solid where it counts.....inner and outer wheel wells....trunk....frame.....floorboards are all very decent. Please understand though... this 442 NEEDS FULL RESTORATION. This is a non-air car......not loaded much at all really. The engine is a 350 with internal improvements over the years and higher compression heads and aftermarket intake, carb. and valve covers. It is fun to drive! The transmission shifts tight and correct. DRIVE THIS CAR HOME! I have some of the original parts to put back to stock included. (valve cover....intake....carburetor....air cleaner.) The dash WAS NOT DAMAGED when the aftermarket radio was added. I do not have the original radio or exhaust manifolds. This 442 needs a passenger quarter panel..... passenger door and drivers floorpan for sure. The rest of the body is very workable with parts readily available. I had the car inspected by professional restoration center and both fenders....drivers door....drivers quarter panel....trunk and deck lid are all rebuildable. The vinyl top was replaced once and is still in great shape. This 442 was painted once with the original green exterior color. Both bumpers and most of the trim....grillles....glass are in good shape. The front bumper is in near perfect condition. The interior and carpet are in above average condition.... again all there! This 442 is an ABOVE AVERAGE RESTORATION START with a little history. It has been stored indoors for years and deserves a restoration.
