For your consideration, a 1989 Mitsubishi L300 cargo van, aka the "surfer van" This is perhaps the most original, and rust free, Mitsubishi L300 cargo van in the USA. I bought the van back in 2007 from the original owner, and drove it for about two years as my daily driver. In 2009, I purchased a 2004 Mitsubishi Fuso FG 4X4, and the van was set aside as a future project. To date, I have been driving the Fuso FG for the past three years as my daily driver, and the van gets driven around the block every other week or so. As such, I have decided to offer the van up for sale, to perhaps promote my Fuso project, and to perhaps allow someone else the rare opportunity to enjoy one of these unique vehicles. 1989 Mitsubishi "van" 2.4 liter 4 cylinder automatic w/ overdrive Yakima roof rack Hella 500 driving lights Blaupunkt "Aspen" w/ cassette and remote (new in 2011) Interstate battery (newer) 4 Gabriel shocks (newer) Fiamm horns The van has awesome MB Motorsports 5 spoke wheels and 205/70-15 BFG Radial T/A's that have about 15K miles on them. The sliding door on the right is an OEM replacement, and is in the factory black primer. The original door had a small dent in it. The engine and exhaust are original, and the van runs and drives quite well The brakes are newer and the van stops as it should. I have the original tires and wheels, and the spare tire is the unused original. The turning radius of the van is absolutely crazy tight. The alternator had to be relocated to the position of the power steering pump, as the mounting point for the alternator broke free of the engine block, the part which I have. The carpet has been removed from the passenger compartment, but I have the carpet, which I saved as a template. I am also missing the dash cap for the brake fluid reservoir, just the decorative part, not the actual reservoir cap. I never had it. The gas gauge has a mind of it's own. The body is rust free, and in white primer where there were minor dings and chips. The interior of the van is immaculate, and outside of a few faded trim pieces and missing rear door cards, it is in need of nothing. Simply put, if you have been looking for one of these vans, it will probably not get much better than this. The van is a great summer ride that gets tons of attention and comments.
