Exceptionally well maintained adult driven MR2 with 115,000 miles (which equates to under 5,000 miles per year on a 27 year old, almost pristine Motor Trend Car of the year of the mid 80's.) The car has a fairly well documented history, along with the original sticker. Items listed on sticker: 4-cyl 1.6L 16 valve twin cam, 5 speed overdrive transmission, 4 wheel power disc brakes front and rear luggage areas, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shift, 7-way adjustable seats, electric rear defogger, dual power remote mirrors, quartz clock, tack, tilt wheel. The car runs absolutley perfect, and handles just like a go-cart. Tires are Mohawk Predator p195/60 R14 85 H radials mounted on premium "revolution wheels" with about 85% tread life. Color is called Super Silver Metallic with a two-tone near flawless interior cab. This is the hardtop model, said to be the lightest of the mid-engine MR2's, the car as a small door ding on the passenger side, a tiny rust spot on the passenger rear edge along the mudflap, it also has a sliver of rust on the drivers front lower area where the front spoiler pan meets the fender (see photos). The passenger windshield post has two dings in the trim. (see photo) The car is extremely straight with few miles ever driven during the harsh mid-western winters. The condition of the under carriage is solid and clean. Recent service (within the past 6 months) has been done to the timing belt, along with a new water pump, new alternator, belts and a recharge of the air-condtioning system. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts with ease yet should be serviced, as it will slip if the vehicle is pushed too hard. The hard top has some fading, or what I would call paint rash which should be visible in the photos. The car is registered current and is a daily driver. The only reason I am selling this car is my wife just bought me a used Audi TT, for my recent 59th birthday. (I don't know if I would call it an upgrade, but it is also a very nice car nevertheless.) The MR 2 is currently in Springfield, Illinois - Central Illinois, but we can drive the car either to the Chicago area or St Louis at the winning bidders request for an easier pick-up for a gas reimbursement cost of a flat 100.00.
