Vehicle Detail

I listed this car 9-13-11, 280739189253, then 9-24-11, 280746063410. It is a 93 Special Service Package Mustang with 1489 miles. A full description following these few words: If I don't sell it with this ad, I will start driving it on a vacation I'm planning later in May. I have full coverage insurance and a current license tab dated 3-29-12, see third photo. On June 1st it will have 2500 to 3000 miles on it. It was always my plan to take a lot of photos before I drove it. This to help others in restoring SSP Mustangs, I've taken 280 so far. I suggest you buy this car. If you are spending $1000 to $1500 or more per year to restore a SSP Mustang. Or you have ordered a new Mustang. You simply cannot own a new Mustang any cheaper. If you plan on driving it, your cost per mile could not be lower then this. No one can predict future values. This car could loose 20%, not loose value, or go up 20%, in the next ten years. One thing for sure, if you buy something new you loose value fast. These cars are very simple. Other then frequent oil, transmission fluid and coolant changes, in 60,000 miles in my 90 Mustang, all I needed to do was change two rotors and eight spark plugs. Also these cars are easy to modify and have one third the moving parts of a mod motor. If something goes wrong they're easy to fix. The last paragraph of the original ad said, "you should save this car for interstate 94". That's what I'm suggesting here. If this is a car you would like to drive, from new, step up. Today is the day. Good luck. This is the original ad: Essential Reading 93’ Special Service Package Mustang, 1489 miles (see photos). Right rear Quarter panel was repainted at dealer, when new. The only way to tell is the over spray in the wheel well. (All the overspray is shown in two photos). Includes original window sticker, (carefully removed by me in 1998), second full size window sticker, two page summary (dated 10/13/93), 13 options selections by order, four page glove box list (dated 12/10/93), 85 lines of special parts on this car, part numbers, descriptions, option numbers, usage (number used), and service part number. Also a loose leaf book with a copy of roof hat, a piece of cardboard folded in half and placed on the roof when the car went down the assembly line. It reads: DSO POLICE. The book also contains a reduced color window sticker, four page color copy of sales book from Ford, a loose leaf book titled “It’s a Special World”, original sales papers, original odometer statement, and the shipment statement. Above two page and four page lists a color copy of the first title, Virginia. Color Copy of the second title, Oregon, in my name. The current title date 2009 in Minnesota also has my son’s name on the title. We will both sign this for the buyer. There are also 3 photos I got with the car, one shows window sticker in window. Five original tires and wheels. Date coded 123,123,133,173 and 1732. Original hubcaps are dated 6/17/93. The four tires that have been on the ground, have only been on the car 10% of the time I have owned it. Each wheel has a paint dot on it that matches a paint dot on a lug to make sure it goes back on the car just the way it came off. These tires roll better than any tire I have ever had on any 5.0 Mustang. There are no flat spots from sitting. To sort it out, I drove it 3 or 4 times in the last month. A good friend drove up to the tire store to help me take photos of the bottom of the car, 9/3/11. He said the air conditioning was comfortable. On 9/9/11 I drove it ½ mile to take photos of the outside of the car. The gauge in the cold air duct read below 50 degrees on the factory charge (see Photo). Earlier this spring I pulled it out of my garage to move some stuff and it got rained on! I didn’t feel I could cover it and it sat without the painters’ plastic for two months. I washed it with soft water and did not wax it or use instant detailer on it. It looks very nice. Three or four years ago the fuel pump went out. I made sure there was no old gas in the tank. I only put in it ½ gallon of gas at a time, so the gas is very fresh. While the tank was out I washed everything from the rear end back with dish soap. Recently I also washed the rest of the sheet metal on the bottom with dish soap. I have always washed the wheel wells when changing the tires. It would be good to wash the K-frame rear end and oil pan, but I ran out of time. The bottom is very nice. I didn’t do anything to the engine, detail wise. There are two original keys, in great shape. One has a metal tag that reads: Record # Discard. The other has the selling dealership key fob. The first time I changed the oil I took the two oil pan plugs out. I replaced them with two from an auto parts store. The two plugs will be in the car when you get it, not in the pan. I saved the factory oil filter. It doesn’t look good as it was hard to get off. Let me know if you want it. A factory grey oil filter goes with the car. The car has a new motorcraft battery. I have the original motorcraft, it’s dead. It goes with the car. Front license plate frame (not on car) goes with the car. The glove box stuff is all there. Owners manual, etc. The dealer listed on the window sticker is Arendale Ford Sales, PO Box 1228, Arlington, TX 76004. The two page list dated 10/13/93, title “13 option selections by order” lists Account-City Mesquite. It also says it is one of two. I understand the order was changed to Crown Victorias, allowing the dealership to sell the two SSP’s to the public. The buck tags are on the car, never removed and read: Top buck tag reads: 0930 LX2 LX ET 202872 AC HB WB SK G6 PF 0727 520558 WBB 2 202872 Lower buck tag reads: DSO POLICE DSO POLICE Payment Details: Downpayment through PayPal until final payment Cashiers check or cash Transport: Pick up or transport responsibility of buyer Optional Reading This is my history with SSP cars. I graduated from high school in 1967. I’ve owned a lot of supercars, always more than one and always long term. Now this really is optio nal reading. GTO’s, 442’s, Road Runners, Hemi’s, Shelbys, 428 Mustangs were American Supercars or Hi performance cars, like a Yanko SC (supercar). I had a business called Supercar Service Company in the 70’s. I read Hemmings Musclecar, Musclecar Review and attended the Musclecar Classic Car Show. The word Musclecar started in the 90’s, it did not exist until then. I am a car junkie, all my friends are car junkies, and I will travel anywhere to be around fast cars. I’ve driven over a hundred thousand miles in cars with 390 gears. In the late 80’s I discovered 5.0 Mustangs and then Special Service Package Mustangs, and had to have one. I read everything I could, bought an assembly manual and put an ad in a local paper to find others interested in ordering more then one. No dealer would sell me a car. I wrote Ford asking them to allow me to buy one. I have my own letter on Ford letterhead, color paper, refusing to sell me a car. I finally bought a 91 LX coupe, 7-up green, 5 speed, optional rear end. This car had a special transmission and a tag that said to contact Ford if it needed service. Then of course, I found a 90 SSP. It was also not used as a Cop car and I bought it. Then I found and bought this car, the one I’m selling now, with 37 miles on it, 5 years old. I expected to sell the ’90 and start driving the ’93. I was busy rebuilding a garage and getting ready to retire and didn’t get around to doing that. My 90’ was always my go to car for traveling – to car shows and auctions in Chicago etc. The second to the last trip I took with he 90’ was to The Woodward Cruise. I was going to sell it then with less then 60,000 miles, but I needed it to go to the Pure Stock Drags in Michigan two weeks later. There was a 3 month period when I was driving the black 90’ and a black Jeep with one garage space. Hey, I have the exact same car in white, with 1489 miles on it. It’s in it’s own garage space in my back yard. I sold the 90’ on Ebay 6/17/10, 280518184185. I know I should not talk about gas mileage, old man talk, but I get 26+ with those cars and as much as 29. I have always had fast cars. These cars are fun to drive fast. They are also a world class car, as efficient as a Honda or Toyota and able to get to 140 MPH in 20 seconds. You need to save this car for interstate 94. This is your chance to own a near new SSP Mustang. All the best. Good luck..
