This is a 1985 ½ (yes there different) Porsche 944 naturally aspirated original condition car. I bought it from the original owner. It had been in indoor storage from 1989 until I bought it in November 2010. I have driven it about 1,000 miles since purchased, and it was professionally cleaned and in heated storage since last thanksgiving. It now has 27,488, original miles! Because of the storage it had not seen any UV sun damaging rays for over 20 years. The dash rubber and vinyl are incredible for a car this age. The engine is a 4 cylinder 2.5 Liter 150HP naturally aspirated engine with a 5 Speed manual transmission. The 1985 ½ received and updated dashboard, increased oil sump capacity, cast alloy control arms, and the classic phone dial wheels. This has almost perfect weight distribution (50.7% front, 49.3% rear) due to the rear transaxle mounting. To “revive” this car after 20 years in storage I did the following work and can provide receipts upon requests. Clean and flush fuel tank, lines, and injectors, replace fuel pump. Cylinder head valves ground and seated, with new seals. Replaced main bearings, rod bearings and balance shaft bearings. Replaced water pump, thermostat, timing belt and balance shaft belt. New front brakes and flushed complete brake and clutch hydraulics. Installed 4 new Kuhmo platinum tires. New battery. New Hood and hatchback gas struts. Shortly after “reviving” the car I took it on a 350 mile trip and averaged 35 MPG travelling roughly 75MPH. Of the 23,720 944s produce in 1985 only 6,167 were imported to America. This is a Garnett Red exterior with black interior, power removable sunroof. Blaupunkt radio. Car comes with original Porsche Bra and sunroof storage case. Factory security, and wheel locks. Very few stone chips, one dent with touch up paint over the driver side marker light see photo. A/C works but does not hold a charge.
