1948 FORD, F1 SHORT-BED PICKUP This is the REAL deal Looking for the PERFECT F1 Pickup project? You’ve found it! This unmolested F1 is located in Orlando, Florida – coming from the Blue-Grass state of Kentucky (with FREE Dear Head Hood ornament!) If you are considering an F1 – why would you even think of looking at a 1949, 50 or 51, when you can have an early (March), FIRST year (1948) of the “F”-Series pickups! The truck has been in covered storage for years – does not run BUT – the truck DOES come with a second, with high compression in all six cylinders, running-when-pulled – correct (matching) motor. Motor was pulled locally from a Ford friend as owner was building a V8 ‘rat-rod’ project. Truck has awesome ‘patina’ (Sounded cool from another ad!) Speedometer in the truck is showing 98099 Miles on it – but of course you can swap out the addidtional instrument cluster and have 65,523 mile on her in no time! ! Amazing! Three Speed on-the-floor transmission – original heater and radio The truck is solid and complete except for one passenger side mirror and the tail gate. There is considerable rust on the floorboards, running boards and truck bed – remainder of pickup virtually dent free (except for a small dent behind front bumper under headlamps) – solid – Bondo and filler free. Truck is not titled but does come with a glove box door and vehicle plate with correct ‘numbers’ – for a ’48, F1, 6-cylinder: 87HC97169 / Model: 8HC F-1 does come with a myriad of extra parts: Second (running) Engine / Hood / Instrument Grouping / Gas Tank / Fender Brackets / behind seat ‘storage box’ (oh the memories!)/ Front grill / Headlight ‘surrounds’ / Front hood cowl / and much more come with vehicle! Over the years I’ve also been able to find the ‘correct’ 16” X 6” Wheels and tires (VERY RARE – only made for the first two years) – Wheels still have the wheel rims and pinstripes! All tires solid, hold air but aged – not recommended for driving. Truck rolls free and will be glad to help loading it onto your trailer / flat bed.
