RK Motors Charlotte 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US Phone : (704) 596-5211 Email : information@RKMotorsCharlotte.com Frame Up Restored Beetle 1500 cc 4 Speed Is there any car that's more recognizable than the Volkswagen Beetle? It single-handedly built a 58 year legacy out of honest, no frills transportation; and as a result, it's one of the most endearing cars on the planet. Today they're plentiful, fun, happy toys which enjoy a tremendous following and a positively gigantic support system. This incredibly cool 1969 model is the perfect car for a budget-minded collector or someone who is new to the hobby. With a solid body, strong original drivetrain and comfortable cloth interior, it's one of the best and most unique collector cars your $15K can buy! Sporting a slick coat of era correct Cloud White paint, this fully sorted and completely road ready Beetle recently benefitted from a frame up restoration which likely cost close to what we're asking for the car itself. And while its body isn't concours perfect, it is super straight and carries a spectacular shine that will look excellent motoring down the road to a VW show or your favorite local hang-out. The restorers began by stripping the car down to its bare metal and smoothing and prepping each of its panels. Once those panels were completely flat, and aligned to better than factory standards, they were evenly coated in a high quality, two-stage urethane and buffed to a high gloss shine. The end result is a very clean, well-aligned bug with a top notch finish and outstanding appearance that will provide years of worry-free fun. Being one of the most popular cars of all time, it's no surprise that there's a thriving aftermarket which produces almost any replacement part these cars need; and accordingly, this rebuilt bug features a ton of new chrome and stainless throughout. At the front of the car, a familiar Beetle nose props a classic stainless and chrome trimmed hood, which is topped by an aluminum "VW" emblem, over a showroom fresh chrome bumper. At the sides of that hood, clear sealed beam headlights sit inside of pristine chrome surrounds below clear fender mounted turn signals which display a miniscule amount of patina. Above those turn signals, a like-new windshield rides in front of a completely adjustable chrome driver's side mirror and original VW side and rear glass which is accented by old school stainless vent visors. Below that VW glass, new stainless trim spears parallel good looking chrome door handles, traditional bear claw door hinges and factory black running boards. At the back of those stainless trim spears, a louvered decklid pipes air into the engine compartment above a body-matched tag holder, a traditional aluminum "Volkswagen" emblem and a locking chrome handle. And at the sides of that decklid, clear, chrome trimmed tail lights, which function as new, illuminate a second showroom fresh chrome bumper and pristine stainless exhaust tips. Powering this sharp '69 Beetle is the cars original low compression 1500cc air cooled 'pancake' four cylinder which wears a correct H5369438 serial number and produces a perfectly adequate 50 horsepower. Based on sound and appearance, the peppy engine has been completely rebuilt sometime in the not too distance past; and it runs beautifully, creating that famous and distinctive VW gait which has become synonymous with all boxer engines. At the top of the block, a gloss black air cleaner funnels wind into a correct Solex one barrel carburetor that's equipped with a small inline fuel filter. To the left of that carburetor, a Bosch coil supplies a traditional points distributor that's equipped with fresh Bosch plug wires. And to the right of that carburetor, a Bosch generator spins above a gloss black oil filler tube that's fitted with a correct "OEL" cap and a silver, factory dipstick. Like the rest of the car, the engine bay is clean, road ready and nice enough to set up at a show. And with its high quality components, fresh gaskets and low maintenance design, it'll likely putter along forever! Take one look underneath this cool VW and you'll find a straight, fully sorted chassis that's seen plenty of indoor storage and years of impeccable maintenance. Both the double A-arm front and independent rear suspensions have been completely rebuilt at some point in the car's life and feature pliable bushings and solid feeling shocks. At the ends of those suspensions, traditional drum brakes are all it takes to bring this welterweight bug to a stop. At the back of the car, power flows from the flat four engine into an original 4-speed manual transaxle which wears a correct A1010241 side stamp. And at the corners of the car, silver 15 inch steel wheels spin 165/15 Lemans steel belted radials around pristine, "VW" branded stainless center caps. The bottom of this Beetle is spotless considering its unrestored status; and you can drive it with the confidence of knowing that there aren't any hidden surprises waiting for you down the road. Pop open the car's solid closing doors and you'll find a comfortable and stylish gray cloth interior which is the perfect spot to spend the afternoon cruising. The driver and front passenger enjoy firm Scat Procar bucket seats, rear occupants ride on a custom covered bench, and all passengers are secured with original Volkswagen lap belts. At the front of the car, a repaired dash still looks attractive despite 43 years of battling UV rays; and with the exception of a cool old cassette player, features the same minimalist readouts and accessories found in all Beetles. Below the seats, like-new gray carpet rides under a factory shifter that's topped by a cool wooden knob. At the sides of the seats, completely painted door jams and window frames contrast well against gray cloth door panels that are complete with fresh armrests, tight map pockets, black window cranks and traditional chrome door handles. And above the seats a tight white headliner frames a new-for-1969 day/night mirror. In front of the driver, an ornate Volkswagen steering wheel makes good use of the car's small turning radius; and in front of the cockpit a spacious, by Beetle standards, fully restored front hatch holds a horizontal spare tire. Restoring any car is expensive, even if the car itself is inexpensive like this great looking Volkswagen. Fortunately, there are still a lot of experts on these cars and getting good advice, quality parts, and decent service is easy. If you're looking for fun, practical transportation, this fully sorted Beetle looks awesome and is ready to go!
