Vehicle Detail

At age 73 I've decided to sell some of my toys. This is one of only 1825 '37 Oldsmobiles produced with dual sidemounts. While seen on many Buicks & Cadillacs of this vintage, sidemounts were an option specially ordered on the Olds. There are only about 12 of these still registered with the Oldsmobile Club of America. One is in the Olds museum in Lansing, MI. I wanted one of these as my family had one during WW II and I had memories of many trips in the family car. This car is in extremely nice condition and is a pleasure to drive. I added a high speed rear end and it will cruise nicely at 60 or 65 MPH if you desire. I have quite a bit of documentation of the cars restoration which will go with the car. I've found no "bondo" and the body is very straight. As most of you know, black reveals any imperfections!! The interior, while nicely done is not in the original fabric. The fuel pump just recently started to leak. I've obtained a "rebuilt", but have not installed it yet. I'm using an electric pump that is "temporarily" wired. You could permenantly wire it and not have to "prime" the carburator to start it after it sets a while or install the original type. The temporary wiring may show in the engine picture. The pictures show the excellent condition and if you are near Kansas City, you're welcome to inspect and drive the car. Or you may send someone to inspect it. I've sold five of my other cars (four of them out of the country) and the buyers have been very pleased with the cars and my honest description. If you purchase the car and upon arrival find it not to your likeing, I'll return your deposit - no hard feelings. In the October 7, 2007 edition of the Kansas City Star, the car was featured in the automotive section by Tom Strongman. You may be able to find the article at: www.tomstrongman.com. (not being too computer savvy I was not able to find it-I have a framed copy that I was not able to copy good enough to put in this listing)On Apr-24-12 at 21:23:23 PDT, seller added the following information: I've added some pictures. More will follow - I hope!! In case you notice the Minnesota collectors plate. It was on the car when I purchased it. Since It tells what the car is, I left it on. The 1937 Missouri (year of manufacture) plate on the front is registered to the car. The unusual heater in the water hose was also on the car. I have a regular water outlet to replace that one that goes with the car. Also, there is a very nice custom made cover that also will go with the car.On Apr-25-12 at 12:12:03 PDT, seller added the following information: I added one picture of the trunk. The car is in a garage & it's not the best picture but does show I need to do a little better "trunk maintenance" as the mat is dirty. There is no rust in the trunk area or anywhere else in the body that I'm aware of.On Apr-25-12 at 15:21:18 PDT, seller added the following information: In reviewing the pictures, it appears in some that chrome may be peeling off the bumpers. IT IS NOT. This is just a reflection.
