Vehicle Detail

1968 AMX - originally 390 auto with a/c. Unfortunetly I have to sell my AMX.I have owned the car for 10 years now, allways with the hope and intention of restoreing it someday, but it just isn't happening.I love the car, an real head turner , you do not see many around, in fact I only see them around here in major shows. This is a good solid car , and a driver as it sits, and that's how I use it.I don't think I have even put 5,000 miles on it in 10 years, allways garaged. This car was originnaly a 390 cu.in "GOPAC" with an automatic transmission and A/C.It has the 4 caliper front disc brakes ( rebuilt with a kit from kennedy),tourque links, posi rear end, close ratio power steering, front sway bar. When I purchsed the car it had a 304cu.in. motor and a 4 spd. and it still does. The motor had noisy lifters then and still does, but it just keeps on going, no smokeing exhaust though, so probably just needs some adjustment.Right to the point it is not a trailer queen.Look at the photos and see what you think, it is as it is, no punches pulled. There is no major rot on the frame or anywheres, really solid all over. Both rear lower quarters were repaired before I bought it , by who knows who, and I have never finished the paint. When I bought it came with primered front fenders, hood and trunk.I traded my 73 AMX shell for a set of ones I found that were allready painted white and matched pretty good, installed new carpet and just drove it like it was.The paint on the hood egdes has started to peel off from what seems to be poor prepwork when painted,it is not rusted or bubbled,it just peeled and popped wich was a bummer. The 304 has an aluminum intake, edelbrock 4 bbl. , and headers with complete dual exhaust. It also has a newer 3 core radiator from Kennedy American. With the car goes all of my collection of parts purchased through the years with the intent of returning it to it's original equipment.Any and all parts shown in the pictures goes with the car.*( with the exception of the black set of sun visors wich I realised after the fact,go to my SX/4).There is a complete 390 motor, as I bought it, a block, heads, crank and buckets of pistons, etc. , also a set of 70 bare heads, a Borg Warner T-10 , an AMC automatic trans , and on and on.New fiberglass front fender and Mark Donahue rear and front spoiler, not the later year Javalin/AMX one that needs to be cut to fit right !Just because you see the part in the picture doesn't mean the car needs it, I just bought what I thought was important at the time and then some.Anything more I find before the end of auction will also go with the car.I don't expect it to be a big item, but I keep finding little things etc.The car is more than 30 years old, no title required, it is registered, insured and inspected here in NY. Things I know are missing , are all the AC underhood parts, spare tire and inflator, original air cleaner, exhaust, and carberator.I prefer not to be nit picked to death about this, it is as it is, and I believe a good solid car and bargin with all the parts included.Run it like it is or delve into it and get greasy and smile. Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping costs.I will assist as best as possible within reason, with no financial resposibilty on my part. The parts will NOT all fit in the car, nor will I pack and crate them all. I will pack and wrap up as many small parts and items as I can, but I think you will need a means to haul the car if your not driveing it away, and something to haul all the parts. If you choose not to take some or all of the parts that's your choice and not monitary compensation will be given back to the seller due to such.Pick-up of the car and parts should be within 2 weeks, but am negotiable on that. $500 down within 48 hours of sale via PayPal , remaining balance due within 7 days at close of auction, cash or certified bank check, car DOES NOT leave till the funds have cleared to my account. Please ask any questions you may have, I will answer all that I can, and help in any way that I can within reason. Thanks !! On Apr-28-12 at 14:35:46 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had several contacts asking if I would sell the car seperate , or sell parts seperately. I will express the fact that I will not, the ad is as it states,EVERYTHING shown goes with the car.IF the buyer chooses not to take some items that is their choice and will not alter the total price of bid, the total that you bid is due,no matter what you choose to do after auctions end.I'm sorry ,but that is how I placed the ad. I also have this AMX listed locally, and I reserve the right to cancel the auction at anytime if it sells local.
