1965 Mustang Convertible (Stunning Restoration) I am offering for bid this restored 1965 Mustang V8 Convertible with power soft top. The car has new paint, interior, updated front disc brakes, updated suspension, front sway bar, and wheels/tires. This car runs and drives excellent and is in very clean “show condition”. I run the car frequently avoiding long periods of storage to ensure it is always in good order. This car does not go out in the rain. Every time I take this car out for a drive it is a treat. (window sticker, bill of sale, purchase receipts, purchase order, unused ignition key, hand written list of oil changes, owners envelope from dealer, owner’s manual and registrations). The original owner had the car for 40 years and sold it in March of 2005 to the second owner who had it till 2011 when it acquired it. Engine & Automatic Transmission: The mechanics on this car are very well sorted and have been maintained to a high standard. The car shifts smoothly and runs strong. You can see in the documentation detailed hand written notes from the original owner of oil changes from 79-05. In 1979 the original owner had the V8 289 motor rebuilt and at that time updated it to a 4 barrel, I can’t be certain how many original parts were kept on the motor. The motor sounds exceptionally nice and delivers power whenever you want it. The car has updated front disc brakes, updated suspension and front sway bar. This car has never been neglected and the condition shows it. Body: The body panels are all straight. All glass is in great shape. The windows work as they should. The door panels and fenders etc… are like mirrors, all the plastic lenses are very nice. The front and rear bumpers are in new condition, all emblems are new. The Power Top is in great condition and works as it should. The car is free of any rust or corrosion. New steel styled rims are in show condition as you can see in the extra photos. The exterior is truly immaculate and the color and condition show the great lines of the car. Interior: The carpet, seat covers (front& back), door skins, and door handles are new. The car has an updated modern cassette stereo and kick panel speakers with iPod connection. The steering wheel is original and in great shape. The trunk mat is new and is the high quality thick option not the thin less expensive version. Summary: This is a pristine example of an American Sports Car Icon. It is in wonderful condition and perfect for cruising or taking to compete in shows. This is a great early mustang to enjoy.
