Vehicle Detail
We have up for auction a 1977 GMC K1500 single cab short box 4x4. It has a small block chevy engine that runs really strong, dual exhaust, starts well in the morning after pumping the carb a few times, then it starts every time if you are driving it that day. No smoke on start up. Has nice dual exhaust, 3 speed auto trans shifts well into all the gears, it goes down the road straight, but has a bit of play in the wheel like most of these older chevys do, it has power windows and locks but the window motors are really tired and need to be greased up or replaced. The switch for the windows is also wired goofy, don't trust what the switch says it's going to do! The inside is complete except a couple vents are missing, but needs some TLC. It is an a/c cab, but no a/c is hooked up. The tires have a lot of tread, it has some old school centerline wheels on it. It looks like around a 2" lift on it with some newer shocks, truck rides pretty well. The power steering and brakes work well, but the brakes squeal until you push down on them. The truck passed saftey inspection but failed the emissions because it's idling low. The shop said to raise the idle, throw a set of plugs in it and it should pass. The truck is really close to being able to drive every day I think. The speedo cable doesn't work well, it bounces around quite a bit. Mechanically the truck is better than most this old, but needs some little things. The body was made by GM so it has taken it's toll of rust. The drivers side cab corner is shot, as well as the rocker panel on that side. The passenger rocker might be able to save but I'd replace it too if you are going to restore the truck. The floors look ok, the fender mounts are decent, the frame is solid. The bed needs some help, it's getting some good sized rust bubbles on it. I really think this truck has a ton of potential and if I had the space to keep it and restore it, I really would. Its fun to drive and would make a great project, or leave it as it sits and it would be a great hunting rig. We are a small dealership and we bought this truck from a private individual that was upset he had to put some time and money into the truck to make it road worthy. We are selling it in true auction style with NO RESERVE, you bid to buy! I have tried to cover everything I know about the truck just from driving it up and down the road a few times, and doing a visual inspection. I am not perfect and if you have a question call me! Also there is no buy it now, as there is no reserve, if you want the truck, bid on it. If you want it, but aren't sure if you have money DON"T BID!!! Your bid is a binding contract that you commit to buy and I really hate when people waste my time, and I'm sure you hate it too so let's keep the mutual understanding that you and I hate people that waste time and I promise I won't waste your time if you won't waste mine.
