Offered is my 2003 Volkswagen Jetta 5-speed TDI station wagon with 113,776 miles. This is a 100% Texas car and has never been in a harsh winter so it is completely rust free. This is not a concours vehicle. It has all the normal paint chips and minor dings of a vehicle this age. This vehicle is a very reliable, low mileage, high-miles-per-gallon comfortable car. See the YouTube video. See all 47 photos on my Flickr account. This car has only had two owners and it’s stone reliable with a documented average of 43.3 MPG tracked over nearly 29,000 miles. See the fuel mileage details on Fuelly.com. This 43-MPG average is nearly all on urban freeways in heavy traffic. On long trips with the cruise control set the car routinely achieves 45-46 MPG at 75 MPH. On the Fuelly site you can see that the best fuel mileage ever achieved was 48.9 MPG. Please note that I routinely fuel between 650 and 680 miles with about 15 gallons of fuel. With current fuel prices my average cost is only 8.3¢ per mile traveled. My Mechanic - (Diesel Toys) - performed the 100,000-mile service in September 2010, where the timing belt and all related parts were changed. This means the engine is ready for another 100K miles! Todd has done all the routine service on the vehicle since 2007. I use full synthetic Mobil 1 engine oil. The battery is new at about 7 months old. There are zero known mechanical issues – all systems are 100% functional. Tires are Michelin Hydro-Edge – 70,000-mile tires. They are about at the halfway point of tread life and have 35-40,000 miles left. The spare is the original Michelin and has never been on the ground. The car has never been in any sort of an accident and is straight with the exception of the shown cosmetically minor scrapes and paint scratches – see the pictures (and those on Flickr) for those details. The interior has its normal wear for a car of this era. Again there are some minor issues shown in the photos. The heating and cooling system is fully functional on all settings and fan speeds. The AC is fully functional and cold. The car has a trailer hitch and is included in the price. The Texas title is 100% clear and in my possession. As a private seller I offer no warranty. The car is offered “as-is”. The winner of this auction will deposit $500 to my PayPal account within 48 hours of auction close. Full payment – cash or certified bank check only – is required within 7 days of auction close. Buyer is responsible for vehicle pick-up or shipping.
