This great SUV has been our family “truckster” since Oct 2008. It has provided safe and reliable transportation for us for the last 3 ½ years and nearly 40k miles. In April of 2009, we successfully “rebuilt” the title after the vehicle at fault “bumped” the left front end. [If you have ever gone through this process, you know that it can be a major task.] -But the good news is: the Frame shop ensured that the frame was in specifications… the award- winning body man did a great job… and the State of WV’s thorough DMV Inspectors designated particularly for these situations have gone to great lengths to verify that all the repairs have been professionally done to ensure that this would be a safe Durango. We have all of the documentation including before and after photos. It did not look like a whole lot of damage, but believe me; the whole process took two months and a lot of work. All this was 35,000 miles ago, and there have been no noticeable symptoms following these simple, yet time-consuming remedies. Also, this Durango saw active service as a municipality fleet vehicle. I have spoken with the fleet service manager and was assured that this quality vehicle was operated by personnel of the more mature and responsible ilk. The condition and handling of the vehicle would indicate such as well. Please note that this daily driver is currently at 163k miles, but that will change. It is for sale “as is” with some of the indicators of its former duties and history. There remains minor tell- tale signs of this past life, including a several inch hole in the headliner. This has never been a bother to us, so it remains as it did when we inherited it in 2008. Expect minor scuffs and wear consistent with a vehicle of this age and mileage, but no significant rust, etc. As a matter of fact, most folk comment that with NO tears in the seats, carpet and with the shiny paint and solid handling… that they assume that the Durango is much younger than its actual date of manufacture. This fun ride is also for sale locally. Serious bidders can contact seller to come kick the tires that have good tread, by the way. In the spirit of full disclosure, I was just reminded by the primary driver of this vehicle {can you say, "family communication issues?"} that SOMEONE failed to release the Emergency brake for about 1/2 a mile not too long ago. While the brakes work fine, and they have passed the State Inspection, the "Emerg. Brake Shoes" should be replaced soon. This is a simple task and the parts cost only $62. To adjust for this...
