Rare 280SL Stick ShiftRe listed at no reserve due to non paying bidder This is a very rare 1977 Mercedes 280SL with the AMG body package equipped with manual transmission. The engine runs strong and the transmission shifts smoothly. The 280 has the in line six cylinder engine and gets better gas millage than the V8 cars with a barely noticeable difference in performance. The drivers seat has a hole near your left pants pocket but the interior still shows well. The dash panel has only one or two tiny cracks. This was a west coast car so rust is minimal, however there are rot spots in the corners underneath. The body and paint show minor signs of previous repair and maintenance. The convertible top is in very good condition. The black diamond spoke wheels have new tires, there is a spare on a standard wheel. The factory first aid kit is intact and complete, nothing removed in 35 years. This fine automobile is a blast to drive and always attracts attention.
