1964 Ford Thunderbird This car has been fitted with all the ‘Sports Roadster’ options that were available from the Dealer in 1964: Tonneau Cover; Kelsey–Hays Roadster Wire Wheels; Continental Kit; Dual Halogen spotlights; Luggage Rack; Stainless Steel body side protect moldings; Engine chrome dress up kit; chrome headlight half shields and even curb feelers! The factory equipment includes: power steering with swing-away steering wheel, power brakes, 390 cubic inch 300 H.P.V8 (Code ‘Z’) and automatic transmission. Power windows with lock outs, power door locks, power driver’s seat with reclining passenger seat and headrest, AM FM radio, remote control outside mirror, power hide-a-way convertible top and variable speed windshield wipers. It also has New Dayton steel belted radial white wall tires, a new complete white seat interior kit, new door and trunk rubber kit, new trunk interior kit, new step plates and new hood insulation kit. New concourse decal kit, new white convertible top & a new diamond glass scarlet red acrylic urethane finish. 1964 was the first year for this completely restyled, highly sculptured body style, with only 9,198 convertibles built that year. This was an original Colorado (rust free!) car that was professionally done with no expense spared to make this one of the ‘Best’ and most attractive 1964 Thunderbird Convertibles ANYWHERE!!!! This car was restored approximately five years ago and has never seen rain. I drive it on the weekends and it is a solid #2 car. This is not a show car. This car goes to the beach and around town and is a pleasure to drive. The air works ice cold. The door, hood and trunk panels all fit perfectly as you can see. The trunk kit and top are all new. There is a slight pitting in the dash stainless and a quarter inch tear in the center console. These are two minor things that are still to be done and would like the new owner to know this. To restore this car would cost double of what I am asking for it. It is being offered locally and being sold as-is. I reserve the right to end this auction early if the car does indeed get sold locally. I will store the car for up to 30 days in my garage. The reason I am selling the car is that my son is going to graduate school at NYU and his tuition is extremely high. I have no choice but to downsize my collection and help with his bill.
