Vehicle Detail

After an anguishing 6 year test of my faith, this 65 Mustang was delivered to me on last Wednesday 3/28/12. The incredible untruth spoken to me of what was completed on the car hit my wife and I all at once at delivery (May God help him). The person responsible for the body work is gifted in the paint booth but not in the office, and after delaying a bunch of people, he shut down his business let the car (with the rebuilt motor, new interior, etc. sit his back yard since 2008 (in its present state). The car was very straight to begin with, but just had some rust areas in the normal spots, but his employees did most of body work and those few problem areas showed right away. His name was the car and wanted to finish it right and moved into his employer shop last year, but with another signed contract deadline that past on 2/12/12. I had enough and demanded delivery the next day. What a shock...all the updates of completed work was untrue. This all sounds negative but the problems are not major at all but storing it outside with the new work that was done and the frustrating delays have drained me. I bought the Mustang in 2005 for $2,000 and have all the parts and labor receipts totaling over $12,500 (the scanned itemized list is old). The well known team at Engine Pros did a complete awsome rebuild ($3176) on a stock 289 into HIPO with 225 HP at the fly wheel. Seriously consider removing this motor if I have to relist. New dual exhaust but new valence (never painted), GT bezels and tips never installed. Gil's Trasmission did a great job rebuilding the T-10 4 speed transmission ($723). Floors were solid and treated with rust control paint. Tony's Auto Upolstery insulated the floors.and installed carpet, pony interior, headliner, new 3 way speakers and speaker tray (too bad the sun faded the new capet on the hump) All front and back glass trim moldings straightened and polished. All new rubber as well. New dual Bullet mirrors never installed. The new 15 inch alluminum Torque Thrusts were polished and centers were powder coated in black. Terminators are polished alluminum. GT stripe decalls along with plenty of other pictured components are still packaged and not installed in photos. You and a son or daughter are almost home on this project, but what is left of my energy is now spent elsewhere with my young family.
