Vehicle Detail
Here we have my 1967 VW Bus for sale. This bus currently resides on the east coast and has been here for about 4 years. Previously, this bus spent the majority of it's life in the dry climate of New Mexico. I am a VW fanatic who acquired this bus in November 2011. I will fill you in with as much as I know about the bus. I am selling with the hope of finding a 68-79 VW Bay window camper bus. Out of all the buses, the split window (splitties) buses are the most iconic and collectable. The Good: -1967 bus was the last year VW made the split window bus and the first year of factory 12 volt power. -Underside and exterior body of bus is in excellent condition. Beautiful paint job in two tone sea blue and white. -Bus has pop out front safari windows -A more powerful engine: 1600cc single port upright engine from a 1971 bus (engine case AE) -79,000 original miles -A well running bus and 4 speed tranny that shifts smooth -Virtually rust free bus. -Original Sapphire radio -One of the nicest split window buses on the east coast -Comes with original windshield glass -Has mostly new rubber seals for windows and doors ( not installed) -Extra set of original headlight kits -Many new uninstalled parts -New seat covers (black) -New tires, battery, and Vaccuum Advance Distributor The Bad: - The interior is down to bare steel..does have original front seats. I was going to custom build a camper interior. -The bus needs a carburator clean/rebuild (cheap fix) as she idles rough until warmed up -She needs engine tin and rear apron. The bus has not been driven for ANY substantial drives due to this missing tin -Front floor steel is solid except for 1 half dollar rust hole in top corner of passenger side floor and there is some half dollar size rust under gas pedal -Cargo floor is solid except for the inside top lip along doors. Rocker panel is fine. -Barn doors have some rust at the very bottom of inside of door. -Horn and some lights do not work -Does not have windshield arms or wipers I have set the reserve fairly below what she is worth. This bus is an easy one to finish since the body in in such great shape. As she sits now, she turns heads!! She is a great bus and will be missed. My hope is for this bus to someone who can truly appreciate her for what she is. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions you may have. Thanks and happy bidding!
