Vehicle Detail

Up for consideration is a 1966 442 holiday coupe. This car was bought new from Richards Oldsmobile in Laramie WY. It was built in the freemont CA plant. A nice thing about freemont built cars is that alot of them had build sheets unlike the other plants. This car has a copy of the original build sheet providing all the evidence needed that this car is indeed what it is. Some of the options with with this car is as follows: Tinted windows, power steering, brakes, buckets, console with vacuum guage,3:90 posi,am radio with rear speaker, vanity mirror and the rare dash mounted tachometer (works). The car was purchased from a family that owned it for many years. The owner had passed away over 10 years ago and the car has pretty much sat since with some regular excersise. I got the car with a rebuilt 1966 400 E block engine. I had my shop open it up to verify the rebuild and it indeed was. Since then it has been torn down to a bare block, re-honed due to sitting and is just about finished. All the assembly lube had hardened and the motor needed to be re-cleaned. It has .020 over pistons in it and it looked as if everything else was new. I am having a professional shop do the work as we speak and motor will go with car. It will be a complete intake to oil pan rebuild. In 66 the id numbers were not on the engine. The heads of these motors have an id number that would match one on a protecto plate. There is no protecto plate with this car so there is no real way to know if this is the born with motor or not. The car was painted probably 20 years ago if I had to guess. As my research had proved it looks as if the only areas addressed were the lower rear quarters. I took pictures inside the trunk and it looks to have had lower patches. doors and fenders are nice. pictures show floors are real solid with factory undercoating on them. A big area of concern with these year cars are rear window rust. This one shows no signs of issues even with having a vinyl top. I took close up shots also. Side trim is perfect with exception to a screw hole in one of the fender pieces. No dash rust. Car runs and drives well as is with the 330 that is in it currently. trans is a M21 4 speed. Interior is all there and original. Good enough for a driver. Door panels are real nice and headliner has been replaced. dash pan is mint. Bumpers have been rechromed at some point and are real nice. Exhaust was from year one and still has stickers on it showing it had been put on car and then not used. Overall car would make a decent driver as is or a perfect restoration candidate. Hard to find these with documentation and the goodies this one has along with a nice color combination. I have a link to about 75 pictures going over the car in detail. Car sold as is and I reserve the right to end listing at any time. For serious inquiries call Jason @ 414-688-060four. http://s125.photobucket.com/albums/p45/jstrits/silver%201966%20442/
