1985 TOYOTA GTS CONVERTIBLE! This 1985 Toyota GTS Convertible is a nice 2 owner car with 83,000 original miles. Actual and original mileage on this car at the time of this auction is 83,235 Miles. I purchased this car for my daughter to be her first car when she turns 16 later this Summer. I "thought" she might like to be like her dad and have a "Red Convertible" for her first car. I was wrong! She does not want a convertible at all therefore I am selling "her first car"! I purchased this car from the second owner here in Nashville who owned this car for 25 years. He purchased the car in 1987 with approximately 16K miles. At that time this was his daily driver however that quickly changed and became his toy car. The car had been stored in is garaged and driven less that 500 miles a year for the last 15+ years therefore the low original mileage. When I purchased the car I did a COMPLETE MECHANICAL SERVICE on the car which included the following: Complete Oil and Oil Filter Service Completer Radiator Flush and Fresh Coolant New Fan Belts New Battery New Fuel Filter Complete Automatic Transmission Service with New Filter and Fluid Completer Rear Differential Fluid Change Complete Brake Fluid Flush Complete Power Steering Fluid Change New Windshield Wiper Blades New Catback Tailpipe and Muffler New Windshield Washer Fluid One Pair (2) of New Trunk Lid Support Gas Struts Grease Front Wheel Bearings Check All Brakes and Pads Other Small Maintainence Items Most of the above service was not required however since I planned to give this car to my daughter I did everything. I also planned to install a new convertible top but since she does not "like" the car (Too Old) I will leave this to the next owner. Should the buyer desire a new top be installed I have already checked and a new CORRECT Hartz Cloth Black top with GLASS Rear Defogger rear window, new pads and installation can be completed for $1,200.00. This expense will be at the buyer's expense if desired. This exterior of this GTS is completely ORIGINAL PAINT that is in nice condition. This car has had No Paintwork just a couple of paint chip touch-ups over the years. The front bumper cover is excellent with no damage. The original front lower spoiler/valence is excellent with no damage. The grill and factory power retractable headlights are nice and work properly. The original hood and front fenders are nice. The original doors open and close properly. The door hinges on both sides are excellent as you would expect. ALL the glass is original to the car including the windshield and is in nice condition. The rear quarter panels are nice as is the rear bumper, tailights and valence. There is a small "ding" under the left rear tailight as shown in the pictures. This is from the second owner backing into something. The original trunk lid is nice however the original paint has faded on the truck-lid. The spare tire is in trunk. The original top is OK but the rear glass window has come loose from the top and needs replaced. It will cost just about the same labor to replace the window as it will to replace the top so I think a new top is in order. The original convertible top headliner is nice. The original 3 piece hard "Boot Cover" is with the car and in nice condition. The rear trunk carpet and lining is excellent. The underside of the car is very nice with no rust or damage. The tires on the car are matching and in fair condition. The original aluminum wheels are complete with original lug nuts and proper centers. Mechanically I have performed all the maintainence listed above. Virtually everything works on the car. That means the air conditioning is cold and heat is hot. The power windows, door locks, original radio, windshield wipers, lights, retractable headlights, cruise control, horn, original power antennae, gauges, and more works properly. The tilt steering wheel is tight and the steering wheel is nice with proper grain. The original carpet is superb with no wear at all in the front. The door panels are excellent. The dash pad is NICE with NO cracks. The front and rear seats are VERY nice! The center console is excellent with a nice armrest lid.
