Vehicle Detail

As you can see in the pictures this is a bare Lotus Elise chassis. Not totally bare because the windshield frame and support structure is still attached. The car was a write-off because of damage to the fiberglass radiator support, the actual crash structure was still completely intact before it was cut off to facilitate shipping to me from Massachusetts 3 years ago. The only other minor issue is an extremely slight bend where the RH upper control arm is attached at the front, and if you're using this as the platform for a race car its not an issue at all. The coolant tubes are still inside the main tub extrusions, but pretty much everything else has been removed. As it sits now it weighs 204 lbs. so a finished race-ready weight of 1,400 lbs would be a reasonable estimate if you were to use a K-series Honda engine in the car. If your dream includes a North-South engine/trans configuration that's easily done as well. 4 Cyl, V-6, or V-8, all could be used simply by building a new rear sub-frame and extending the wheelbase. That was my plan to begin with, but I need to put all of my money into my business at the moment so I'm passing the dream along to someone else. When I bought this chassis the seller assured me he'd send the salvage title along with the truck driver, but after the money had already exchanged hands and the chassis arrived I found that he'd either misled me or changed his mind. I tried repeatedly to get him to honor the original agreement but he wouldn't budge, so the chassis at this point has no title. He told me it was registered in Massachusetts originally, and if you'd like I can provide you his contact information, or you may be able to get a salvage title directly from the Mass. DMV. Obviously a local (Los Angeles area) pick-up would be better, cheaper anyway, but I can have the chassis crated for shipment anywhere on Earth. Crating will cost $540 on top of the auction price, and shipping cost all depends on how far away you are and how fast you want it to arrive. I also have a brand new rear sub-frame available if you're interested, but that's not included in the bid price.
